Investing in cedar or other weather-resistant woods is a good idea because it pays off in the long run. Use a level to plumb and align the components, then insert the galvanized screws. The first step in the project is planning the 14×14 pavilion poles. Use a punch board and string to locate the post. Apply the 3-4-5 rule to each corner of the pavilion and make sure they are square. Also measure the diagonals and make sure they are equal. It is important to determine the location of the pavilion because it must comply with local building codes. Make sure the surface is level and remove any vegetation.

Dig a hole 3 feet deep in the ground with a digger. Carefully make the holes and then install the pipe. Carefully place the 6×6 posts and line them with string. Use the level to level the posts and secure them with temporary brackets. Fill the pipe with concrete and let it dry for several days.
6 × 6 material is used for the rail. Draw a cut line on the beam and make a cut with a circular saw and chisel. Smooth the surface with sandpaper. Other rails use 6×6 material. Set your circular saw to 2 3/4 inches and make a parallel cut in the area you marked. Clean the bottom with a cut and sandpaper.
Attach the top rails to the sides, front and back of the pavilion. Make sure the corners are square, drill a pilot hole and insert a 6 1/2 inch screw.
Make the front and back supports of the booth from 6×6 boards. Using a miter saw, cut a 45-degree cut on each end of the bracket. Place the bracket vertically and then on the pole. Drill pilot holes and drive in 5 1/2-inch screws to hold the bracket in place.

Place the 6×6 brackets on top of the plate. Align the support with a level, then install the upper ridge. Make sure the corners are square, then insert the 6 1/2-inch screws.
Place the support on the upper ridge. Cut a 45-degree angle at each end of the bracket and secure it in place with a 5 1/2-inch screw.
Fill the hole with wood putty and let it dry for a few hours. Smooth the surface with 100-220 grit sandpaper and remove any residue with a damp cloth.
