400 Sq Ft Prefab House – Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, the second richest person in the world, currently lives in a prefab Boxbell Casita home that costs $50,000 (base price). Musk and his team are based in Starbase, Texas, where spaceships are built.
Surprisingly, the house is only 375 square meters in size. Musk indicated that the Buxabs could include several upgrades, spending an additional $19,000 for special features. However, for a man worth $156 billion, the $690,000 home is especially expensive because it is the only home he owns, which he rents out for special events and tries to maintain for his family. He recently sold most of his properties for development as he vowed to reduce his carbon footprint.

Big cities make it possible to build small houses in the backyards of existing homes. Workhouses Whether called granny flats or garden houses, they increase urban density without changing the character of established neighborhoods. Victoria, Canada, adopted a “garden policy” a few years ago, and neighboring municipalities have adopted similar rules. As a retirement destination and university city, Victoria has two groups that could particularly benefit. Seniors can live in their own homes longer with the support of dedicated groundskeepers, and college students benefit from an increase in affordable rental housing.
While this policy is being debated, Small Modern Living has designed a small prototype home called Studio 37 to promote the concept. By having a real, full-size version for politicians and citizens to experience, they can see how livable a tiny house can be.

Just inside the door is a combined living/dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows. The bedroom is on the other side of the house and the kitchen is in the middle. The kitchen doubles as a hallway from the living room to the bedroom, eliminating the need for a private work space. The bedroom features a folding bed with a hanging desk that transforms the room into a home office during the day. The bathroom also serves as a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Barn-style sliding doors for the bedroom and pocket doors for the bathroom save floor space.
Many small house plans have an open bathroom right next to the living space, which is far from ideal and can make guests very uncomfortable. In Studio 37 it opens from the bedroom instead of the bathroom. This is a trade-off that may result in a slight invasion of privacy when guests use it, but it seems better than the alternative, and residents can always clean the bedroom when guests are expected.
Once you look at the photos you will see how big the bathroom is. Because it is designed with wheelchair users in mind. In fact, the entire unit is designed for wheelchair users, with a wide door and knee room under the counter.
Plans for Studio 37 can be purchased through the Small Modern Living website. The plans are designed to meet the needs of B.C. building regulations; You may need to comply with local building codes.
