Kitchen Cabinet Paint Colors For A Vibrant Cook Space
Step 1: Flat surfaces and drying space Painted flat surfaces are the key to renovating kitchen cabinets. Remove all covers and doors and don’t forget to remove all hardware. Then find a space that gives you plenty of room to work — and plenty of room to dry everything for a long time.
Step 2: Get up! do it! do it! The first rule of dressing a cabinet: Make the cabinets and doors clean and dry. Use a gentle level and damp sponge to clean and let everything dry thoroughly. Cleaned up, it’s time to rough it! Most cabinet surfaces are too smooth or shiny to sand and refinish, so we use medium sandpaper (like 100-150 grit) to lightly sand the surface – not enough to completely sand the existing surface, but just enough to be sufficient as a primer. princcps It wears out more. Wipe off the dust with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry.
Step 3: Protect Your Perimeter Be sure to tape a cloth or other protective covering to the counters and the surrounding area while you paint.
Step 4: Prepare for priming A high-quality primer is the foundation of a successful painting job. Fresh Start High-Hiding Universal Primer is a favorite of professional painters. This acrylic primer provides maximum coverage, suppresses scuffs and stains, and provides fabric resistance to wood and other surfaces. And if your kitchen rooms are dark, then you are in luck: New Start primarily in sharp color changes. Do not use lacquer-based primers, as they may interfere with the adhesion of the primer to the surface of the cabinet. After you’re done, take a break: The foundation must dry for at least 24 hours before proceeding with step 5.

Step 5: Sand again After the primer has completely dried (at least 24 hours in a well-ventilated area), it’s time to sand again. Using fine-grit 220-grit sandpaper or a sanding block, lightly sand all surfaces, paying particular attention to areas of drips or puddles (eg: inside corners and wherever two flat surfaces meet). Make sure the surface is as smooth as possible – this will ensure that the paint goes on smoothly. Wipe off the dust with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry.
Step 6: Time to paint! Apply the first coat of Advance Paint with a premium Benjamin Moore nylon/polyester brush. A time-saving tip: Painting cabinet doors (and similar large areas) goes faster if you use a foam sponge or microfiber roller instead of a paint brush. As with the primer, allow the first coat of paint to dry completely before continuing.
Step 8: Repeat Step 6 The second application process provides full coverage and evenly distributes the surface. We love the look of the Blueberry Hill 812 and what it brings to previous white cabinets.
Step 9: Let it dry! The longer the paint dries, the more durable the surface will be, and the less it will stick to restoration. Allow the containers to dry in a well-ventilated area for at least four hours, but two to three days is better. If you want to decorate the inside of the closet, we will take care of it. When everything is completely dry, you can start replacing the hardware in the cabinets and putting it back into your newly renovated kitchen. Looking for other advice? One of the most expensive areas of the house to renovate is the kitchen, this is especially true if we want to replace our cabinets. But instead of investing in all new pieces, consider giving your existing cabinets a fresh coat of paint. As long as the cabinets are safe to use, painting and installing new hardware is an easy DIY way to transform your kitchen.
The same is true of paint cabinets, which are some types of paint suitable for walls. “The thing I recommend the most is a product specifically for painting cabinets,” says Amy Cera, an architectural color consultant and author of the Color911 app.

In addition to choosing a painting on specially designed cabinets, you need to consider the base and finish of the painting.
Cabinet paints can be oil based, latex, alkyd and acrylic based. While each set has its pros and cons, some options are preferable to others.
Whether you are painting walls or cabinets, certain finishes are perfect for certain tasks. “The containers wear well and wash easily,” says Cera. “The best finish for this is satin or semi-gloss.”
