Many people are afraid to choose a dark color to paint a room, thinking that it will make the space dark. However, I do love a rich dark color for a room like the master bedroom – it immediately feels cozy and inviting!

Next, you need to take paint samples. I suggest buying at least three paint samples if you want to paint the walls. Paint them in at least three different places on your walls.
You’ll want to make sure you have test locations near upholstery, carpet, or something that doesn’t change like flooring or cabinets.
Now let it dry (do 2 coats if needed) and then check for at least 2 days. See in morning, afternoon and evening light. Watch it with the lights on and off.

This shade of blue has a lot more blue in it and can almost read a little purple in artificial light. It is very rich and comfortable.
I love how the house looks from the outside – all the natural light makes it read like expensive denim blue jeans.
This dark blue shade has many dark green undertones that resemble the color of the deep part of the ocean. It’s almost a very dark, blue-green shade.
It’s very dramatic and looks almost historical. I love how it looks with the dark wood tones and light white accents.

Midnight Blue is a super gray navy paint color. It’s very muted – tons of shades of gray – which makes it very neutral to read.
If you’re afraid of a color that looks too primal blue, a neutral deep-toned navy is a really safe bet.
Formally, this blue is inspired by classic navy suits and jackets. It is formal and masculine in design. With defined blue-green hues, it’s a great choice for most spaces.
To me, Gentleman’s Gray is a really weird name for this color because it’s not so much gray as it is deep blue. However, the gentleman’s piece is perfect – it would look great paired with men’s accessories in the study, library or man cave.

Hale Navy is probably one of the most popular navy colors! It is heavily saturated with light gray rot to make it dark enough.
Hale Navy is a very deep navy blue. Using this color can make a big impact on your space! It may not be the color for all the walls in your home, but selective use can be really beautiful. The gray fade keeps this blue from looking like a military uniform.
If you are looking for a highly pigmented deep blue color, this is a great choice for you. There’s nothing quiet about Salty Dog – he’s blue and proud of it!
The color does look a bit teal due to the green undertones so keep that in mind. It’s great for a bold pop of color in an area like a front door or a piece of furniture!
