I love telling people I bought my garage online. I have to admit, it’s too scary to send thousands of dollars up in the air and continue in faith. Once I paid my deposit, BBD transferred me to a company that would install my structure. I worked with them for design approval and acceptance. There were times when I had to wait a day or two for a call or email, but honestly – a few times I was assured they were with me. Patience is key when doing this kind of remote work. I handled the whole process myself. I got my permits, described my site, cleared the land, removed the trees and laid the foundation. It’s scary for most people, I have to admit, but it’s just one step at a time. Take a step and move on to the next step, it’s not that bad. Once my foundation was in place I sent pictures to the contractor. They gave me a rough installation date. Because of the size of my garage, I had to rent special equipment to fly the metal joists. This is an additional cost of $1,500, so be prepared to rent equipment if your build requires it. The work crew works very hard and put my garage together in just 2 days! As I suspected at first, for half the price of a log building I have a garage that is the pride of the neighborhood and many neighbors kicking themselves. I am loving it.

Let’s start with the building itself. Items such as belt buckles and purlins are factory welded to the main and secondary members. This means no extra time spent twisting these clips into the correct position while standing.
The base of our buildings uses cast-in-place cladding. The heavy-duty one-piece gauge system installs quickly and reduces the potential for problems with 2-piece systems, as well as backing the manufacturer’s warranty on the wall panels.
