My Personal Home Paint Color Palette • Whitney English

Benjamin Moore has just announced its Color of the Year for 2022, October Mist (1495), a soft shade of sage. Easy to achieve and prime, Benjamin Moore says the color is dreamy, but it’s also the perfect canvas to get creative with other nature-inspired colors.

“As the spaces in our homes continue to evolve, we find more opportunities to express our individuality and harness the power of color to design environments that serve different functions and styles,” said Andrea Magno, Director of Marketing and Color Development by Benjamin Moore. a press release about the announcement. “October Mist (1495) and the Color Trends 2022 palette showcase easy color harmony, inspiring unique combinations for any painting project.”

If you’ve been paying attention to next year’s COTY ads (ours!), you might notice that this color is the fifth (yes, fifth!) shade of green to receive the model’s “color of the year” oversized The Paint Company of 2022. So if you need more convincing to go green at home, this could be the sign you’ve been waiting for.

As in years past, this year’s Benjamin Moore color fits a larger palette and each shade works well together and/or as standalone shades. For 2022, it was the starting point for a botanical study board. October Mist (1495) is similar to the silvery green of the flower stem, and from it emanate many other colors derived from the flower, from the wild flower (2090-40), the red-orange -pink shown at the bottom of the pages. This page, a hint of violet (2114-60), a soft shade of purple. Of course, the palette includes a few main creams and polishes: Steam (AF-15), Morning Dew (OC-140), and Natural Linen (966). The range also includes a light and bright yellow, Pale Moon (OC-108), as well as several other dark greens, including Fernwood Green (2145-40), High Park (467) and Gloucester Sage (HC-100).

Not So Silver Sage

The Fuzzy (AF-565), shown above, acts like the Lions of the group (although it looks a lot like the Charcoal Navy in approach), while the Quiet Moments (1563) can be less saturated and more subtle this year. Answer to last year’s COTY, Aegean Teal (2136-40). The remaining colors, Venetian Portico (AF-185) and Collector’s Item (AF-45), seem to reflect the revival of the neoclassical interior style, as well as a growing appreciation for antique furniture.

Any of the 14 colors in the palette can work throughout the home, from living areas and master kitchens to bathrooms, bedrooms and even outdoor spaces, according to Benjamin Moore. You can visit your local Benjamin Moore dealer to see the chips up close or to purchase sample pots, quarts and gallons in many of the company’s formulas. Benjamin Moore is also selling a limited edition badge pack containing 14 shards and votive candles worn in all three colors this year for $25.00. Hello friends! I have another favorite color to share with you. Today’s favorite is Benjamin Moore Gray Wisp. It’s one of those colors that sometimes looks gray, sometimes blue, and sometimes green. Lighting and its corresponding elements make a big difference in its appearance.

I like this color. I’m looking forward to repainting our breakfast room with Benjamin Moore’s Gray Wisp. It looks good with woody, white and neutral tones. It is a great background for a variety of flavor colors.

This is a good example of how it pairs well with white and dark wood floors, and even browns and grays. Don’t like the wooden beams in this room? I do.

Soft blues and grays are always great colors for bedrooms. Again in this space, Gray Wisp pairs well with the dark wood floors and neutral area rug.

In this kitchen space, these cabinets were first painted with Gray Wisp and then glazed with brown wax. I love the look of this and wish it was in our house somewhere.

This stylish bathroom in this photo. It is clean and comfortable. Another example of how Gray Wisp goes with neutral colors.

In this space, the cream gray walls are a beautiful and subtle backdrop for the furniture and accent rug. The white board has a nice contrast and looks lovely on the oak floors. I love the cozy feel of this room.
