Colors For Bathrooms Without Windows
I didn’t think we’d get to the point of painting this tiny bathroom, but this week it’s time to pick a little wall color for the windowless room and paint it. A small windowless room can make choosing a paint color difficult. Your instinct is to tell you, “I want this room to be light and bright, so I’m going to paint the walls white!” But without very good artificial light, it will look dirty, which is not good.

Whatever room you’re painting in, don’t try to pick a paint color without the lights in the room (and no windows!) so you can see the colors in it. in the light. After sitting in the bathroom with my swatch books, I narrowed it down to two Farrow & Ball shades: Calamine (a pretty, neutral pink with an unfortunate name) and Shadow White (and a warm, light sadness).
In the end we decided on Calamine because it worked really well on the tiles and we knew the girls would love it. After the ceiling was painted bright white, we removed the existing liner and put in a new one for the wall color.
We’ve talked about our love for HANDy paints before, but they really set off the design of this plate. It can hold a gallon of paint, which takes less time to fill, and has ergonomic handles on both sides for easy portability. It also has a magnet so I can easily store the brush when not in use. They really thought of everything.

This room took Chris about 15 minutes to move, I don’t think he had to move his legs (haha!), but the cut took me about 45. But with every beat I fall more in love. It’s warm, soft and inviting and still feels neutral because of those tones. I don’t even miss the window here.
We can’t wait for this room to be finished (finally!) and the paint to dry so we can start uploading the final pieces – mirrors, art, lighting, linen closet! Officially home!
