Sherwin Williams Antique White 6119 – When it comes to paint colors, few are as challenging as Sherwin Williams Antique White. The thing is, as a wall color it is good, but it is also often used in the kitchen cabinet or trim and that is the problem.
By the way, most of my color reviews aren’t intense, but Antique White is a tough lil’ bugger.

, it’s a yellow shade with a medium base to keep it high. Together with the middle ground, it can keep the background of orange, red (pink) or even a hint of green – we will see soon what antique white has.
If you have a north-facing room, antique white can be a great way to balance some of the colder spaces (works well for east-facing rooms too). If your room faces the south or shines in the west in the afternoon, antique white will dry more in the warmth, without looking too sunny.
Antique Cream has an LRV of 72 which can be a nice depth to your walls if you want a cream with a little more body compared to some of the other popular paints. However, it is not so deep that it looks heavy or dated.
On the other hand, the LRV of antique white is one of the reasons why it is not an ideal trim or color cabinet. The ‘average’ LRV for trim and cabinet color is 82-94. With an LRV of 72 you’re looking at colors that are far from white and equally in the ‘light’ range. Antique White actually has a little more meat on its bones compared to many whites or whites, and it is

1. As for the cabinet or trim color, it prefers a color that is at least 1-2 shades darker than the color, which is usually darker than what people want if they paint more than one room or want modify or complete their sweets with Color wall more.
Antique white cabinets (or upholstery) do not want to go with colors that are deeper or lighter than these.
2. The depth of antique white makes it look richer and warmer than the usual paint / cabinet which makes it more limited to the color that it needs next to it (especially is about the color that is cooler than it), where we will go quickly.
The next photo shows the antique white kitchen island and trim. While it achieves a stone fireplace look, it is creamier compared to the undertones in travertine tile floors (travertine often has orange-red undertones). I mean the combo is doable, but it’s kind of strong.

In the example above, my e-design client is actually looking for a new wall color and doesn’t want to change the finish (which makes sense if it runs through the entire home). I have given you some new wall color options and some tips for the kitchen island, to at least reduce the old white stuff in the room.

Antique White is a paint that uses an intermediate level of yellow/white paint. Some creams can be light yellow-orange or yellow-green. Antique white leans a little to orange-yellow, but not much.
In the next photo you can see the strength of the antique white of the paint. My clients hired me to find a new cabinet color since the antique white fixtures collided with the undertones in their travertine tile backsplash (again, travertine is suitable for orange-red, not yellow).

It depends on your thinking. Antique white may look like yellow, but whether you find it too strong or not is up to you. According to an online color consultant, the yellow in the white color makes it difficult as a trim color or cabinet color.
Some paint colors have medium strength. The more neutral the color is, the more flexible it is, and Antique White has more colors than I thought.
Here is another beautiful kitchen with antique white painted cabinets. In general, they read like sugar, but there are those who will see the yellow light, especially when you compare the counters to the travertine tile backsplash…
If you want to make the yellow color of your white antiques or accessories, you can use black or gray glaze, but that does not mean that you have much easier. The glazed watch is also very 2000. If you like the quality and do not plan to sell, I say put ‘er! However, if sales were a consideration, I would reconsider the frosting.

Remember that your cabinets have yellow color – you can not make them something that they are not, it’s just a matter of improving them to better yellow.

With the degree of warmth in antique white, it is best to combine it with a white with a good amount of warmth, rather than a pure or cold color.
By the way, alabaster is more white if you want to change your wall color in the future – Dover White is more limited.

Warm colors help make white faces look good when they blend in a little more. Warm colors are cream, beige and brown.

Cool colors will ‘accentuate’ antique white and can enhance its warmth/yellow, making it look stronger. Cool colors are gray (with all its undertones), blue, green and purple. This also includes gray, although it is considered a warm color.
Another important tip is to look for colors with an LRV of around 50 or lower. A few lighter colors work (except beige/cream which has the same tone as old white).
So, with this information in your back pocket, check out some of the colors below, knowing that not all colors will work in these families, just a place to start!
Personally, I only think of a lot of beige because the cold tones are too much for the white color and make it too strong – but it’s just not for me (not always…)
