Exterior Colors For Red Brick House
This traditional two-story red brick home has beautiful architectural features. it just needs some updated accents to modernize and dress it up. Benjamin Moore paint colors provided a fresh color palette; Revere Pewter on the trim, Dragon’s Breath to paint the wood walls, and Black on the windows. A darker roof color, a new wood-look garage door and copper channels are an elegant finishing touch.
Red Brick House Exterior Update Reveal
This red brick farmhouse style is a classic found in American neighborhoods built after World War II. Updating the front porch with new materials made the biggest impact in bringing it into the 21st century. Our designers also recommend removing the shutters (because they were not the right size) and updating the windows and the front door. Wood accents and copper gutters are paired with Sherwin Williams’ Urbane Bronze color tone to tone down the contrast, making the curb appeal more subdued.
This traditional two-storey house had a second-floor landing with a Tudor-influenced front which looked a little dated and unfinished. We offer new Hardie® Vertical Panel Siding in Benjamin Moore Graphite for a color blocked look. Revere Pewter trim accentuates the roofline. A new portico over the front door and a raised walkway lead the eye to the front door.
A few simple updates have brought new life to this beautiful traditional duplex. Kendall Charcoal walls and Benjamin Moore trim, and windows, gutters, a new double entry door and Onyx metal awning contrast the natural red brick. The roof, which is a few shades darker than the original, ties everything together.
Another beautiful traditional home that has been redone with simple updates. New contemporary windows with black mesh and multiple shades add a modern touch. In addition, wood accents and a luxurious double front door are combined with copper channels to emphasize the layers of the house. Finally, a bluestone walkway and new front steps hold it all together.
Brick And Paint Color Combos We Just Love
This modern house had a darker red brick that goes well with the wooden walls. It is recommended to use the Woodtone composite option of wood veneer under the front fascia. Black and charcoal gray enter the new roof, contemporary garage doors, exterior lighting and trim featured in Benjamin Moore Onyx. Finally, we have offered new James Hardie standard vertical siding on the upper level, painted Benjamin Moore Rockport Gray.
This gorgeous historic red brick home has been given a fresh new look with some intentional updates. First, we offered new Marvin windows and a new double steel door. Other black accents include an X-style portico grill between the existing brick columns and a Bahamian-style grill above the windows to the left of the entrance. Bevolo’s classic copper lighting pays homage to the past. Finally, the Tivertino panels update the front door to the ceiling.
In this traditional mid-century farmhouse, the bright red brick felt like a great contrast against the clean white accents. Plus there was a lot going on with the dark shingle wall, navy blue front door and dated gray shingle roof. We recommend that the brick shine by compensating the color palette. The new metal roof is a bold warm brown, which highlights the copper gutters and exterior lighting, as well as the gorgeous new wooden door. We added a hip roof to the garage for interest. Benjamin Moore Pale Oak features trim, shutters, decking and a new garage door. And new Hardie® Shingle Siding, painted Rockport Gray, brightens the front porch.

Tips For Painting Exterior Brick And How Much It Costs
Moving into more contemporary design territory is the new exterior design of this split level home. The red brick adds more emphasis to this facade as the upper level walls dominate. We recommend replacing the old wall with Hardie® vertical panel cladding and paint and fire in Benjamin Moore Graphite. The trim and shutter are in Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams, which plays well with the black lighting, garage doors, windows and new hood. Wood and copper accents bring natural elements that can bring out the warmth of the brick.
As you can see, many traditional red brick houses were originally paired with bright white coatings and trim, a color palette that we prefer toned down a few notches. In this house we recommended “Kendall Coal” by Benjamin Moore for the exterior and Pale Oak was the trim. The entry area has received a major upgrade with beautiful double wooden doors, a gorgeous surround and baluster, smooth vents and a cool, paved stone path leading upstairs.
We gave this large traditional red brick home an exterior makeover that includes modern touches including new garage doors, updated lighting and a cool front porch. We gave the idea to the new James Hardie walls surrounding the bank of the central bay window to accentuate it by painting it in Benjamin Moore’s Winterwood. The onyx of the dress provides contrast. A warm stone wall surrounds the house and we also used it to surround the fireplace for added interest.
We love the lime wash. It’s a great compromise between painting the brick and leaving it natural. The red brick in the lower half of this home is featured in a custom Romabio lime wash, painted with a Benjamin Moore seascape. Limewash gives you the flexibility to allow some of the brick’s natural color to show through, as shown above. It also works well on brick paths. Here we have combined limewash with the full range of colors Benjamin Moore; Seapearl on another trim, Simply White on the trim, Sea Haze on the fenders and Black on the new front door.
