In the end, we decided to use Iceberg (SW 6798) as a white exterior paint. We chose Tricorn Black as our wallpaper color. As a result, the new color of the white coating really stands out among the black decorations and the green landscape. It was definitely a postmodern restoration that was impressive.
This painted brick before and after is a complete makeover. The previous bare, unpainted brick was undergoing a modern renovation, so we decided to paint it.

As you can see, painting the brick blue to match the siding made the house even bigger.
The custom brick paint color scheme was James Hardy’s Night Gray to match the existing composite deck. We painted the brick and cedar porch on the 2nd floor the same color white. Sea Pearl by Benjamin Moore is a beautiful off-white color with a hint of gray undertone. In addition, this outfit made the house bigger and more modern.
Finally, we painted the shutters, house numbers, and front door a warmer slate gray. The dark gray used was called Raccoon Fur (also a Benjamin Moore color). It also went well with a warm cream brick color like Sea Pearl. This resulted in a simple yet modern brick home that will look great for years to come.
This Tudor-style brick home was ready for a fresh coat of paint to bring it out of the Stone Age. The house was for sale and needed renovation. We also found a white color that went well with the Tudor brown and painted the concrete window sills to match.

Our exterior design expert reduced the colors using strategically placed test strips for the homeowner. The “Orange House” has been an integral part of American architecture and the American way of life for nearly a century. Although some dictionaries define it as a style of home suited to ranch living, the popular ranch-style home we know and love is said to have been created in 1932 by San Diego architect Cliff May. The characteristics of the style revolve around a one-story design, often made of wood paneling or plain brick, with low ceilings and deep gables.
After World War II, the style spread as soldiers returning from war quickly bought these homes looking for easy and affordable housing for their families. The simple layouts on the ground floor took advantage of the outdoor space, opening onto patios commonly used for relaxation and entertaining. No doubt the ranch increased the popularity of outdoor barbecues and neighborhood gatherings.
By 1950, nine out of ten homes built in the United States were ranches. But what goes up must come down, and in the 1970s, farmhouses gave way to more ornate, traditional two-story colonial-style homes.
How To Choose Exterior Paint Colors For A Brick Home
However, a new generation of homeowners now appreciates the original farmhouse-style homes and finds the simple architecture attractive because of its ease of renovation and its similarity to the mid-century style. Ranch homes are now a favorite of home renovators. In fact, in a 2018 Harris Poll of more than 2,000 Americans, 41 percent ranked the ranch as their favorite.
It’s clear that the ranch is here to stay. So let’s look at ways to make the most of popular, sustainable and affordable homes.
Since farmhouses are typically single-family homes with horizontal lines and a roofline, it helps to break up the flow with some vertical elements such as landscaping, potted plants, or decorative details. Adding trees to a park can also add interest, shade and curb appeal.
In general, the facade of a country house is elegant and simple. But the gate itself can create a modern and glamorous tone.
