SW 6078 has an LRV of just 58.83, making it a great mid-tone color that can be surprisingly light and airy, especially outdoors.
We used it for some contrast in our Tudor paint colors redo a few years ago. It’s the perfect decorative color to contrast the everyday white you see around this gray paint color too.
With an LRV of 72, this is one of the lightest gray shades in this spherical version. Don’t pass this one up because you’re afraid it’s too white. It really is the perfect “in-between” color.

In this photo it appears white when paired with SW Realist Beige trim, but it has a full gray undertone and is very comparable to Benjamin Moore Pale Oak.
If you use this on your interior walls, pair it with true white paint for more contrast, or consider my favorite trick of painting the walls and trim the same color.
The Classic Gray OC-23 is so stunning! Although it can also be considered a whiter color, the undertones of this color also lend it to the gray family.
With an LRV of 74.78, it’s the lightest and lightest color in this roundup. I want to use this for our master bathroom remodel.

SW 7015 is another popular option to consider if you’re looking for more mid-range gray tones. At just 58 LRV, it looks just like the real beige we used as the exterior trim color above.

This is one of the most popular gray colors that have dominated the last decade. That’s because it’s tried and true and loved by many homeowners.
Revere Pewter’s LRV is only 55.1, making it the darkest gray in this round. Keep this in mind when choosing a design. Although it offers maximum contrast to the white trim, it may be too dark for some rooms.
Top 5 Benjamin Moore Whites + Off Whites
Benjamin Moore Pale Oak (OC-20) is a soft, light, neutral gray tone. In natural lighting it tends to read as an off-white color. Like Sherwin Williams’ affordable beige, accent colors and lighting make a big difference in your room.
Pale Oak has an LRV of just under 70 (69.89), making it slightly darker than SW Everyday White, which is also on this list. OC-27 is a creamy greige with an LRV of 67.37. It is the perfect shade of gray for a variety of surfaces.
I like that this can read more as a true warm white, but offers minimal contrast. It reminds me of Pale Oak in that respect, so compare the two with the swatch.

Edgecombe is earthy and warm with an LRV of 63.88. That makes it very comparable to agreeable gray, the most popular gray of them all. Try both to see what works best in your home.
