Before we started, we tested if we wanted a 1:1 ratio of paint and water. We also applied thick and thin paint in some areas to make sure we liked the look.
Use masking tape on all sides including where the fireplace meets the carpet. In this particular room, that means placing it on the ceiling, wooden beams, in the corner of the wall, and under the brick where it meets the carpet.
You can use drop cloth, paper or plastic with painter’s tape to ensure that your surroundings are fully protected. Trust us, this is more important for painting projects than anything else.
