The short answer is that I use Floetrol Floetrol and a solid recipe with quality ingredients. That’s all you need to make cells. I don’t use silicone so I don’t need a torch. Sometimes I use the heat gun on the lowest setting for air bubbles if I stir my pigments but don’t give them time to sit before painting. The reason I don’t use silicone is because when it comes in contact with the paint, it can stick between the layers of the paint causing swelling, and eventually it can yellow your paint over time. 2. Do you secure your images with anything? Do you coat with varnish or resin when it is completely dry? How do you get a smooth finish?
I’ve added a few of my paintings with resin for a glossy effect and a wet look, I include some paintings between the pieces, but you’ll see the resin listed in the credit and title of the painting. However, most of the time, my paints dry to a satin finish that is as smooth as a baby’s bottom because of the GAC 800 medium I use. I noticed that I am one of the few Acrylic Pour experts online to share final photos of my fully cured paint. I take them outside and try to take pictures of them from all angles because I am proud that they are not wrinkled, torn or smelly. GAC 800 is very expensive, but with this cooking method I don’t have to cover my pictures afterwards with additional varnish or resin.
3. How can you avoid damaging paint drips? What do you use as a drainer?
First, fluid art is a non-objective genre. You will lose the paint. In addition, some methods are more expensive than others. In my opinion, the method of crossing the ring and the wood is less important than the method of sweeping. I use a washing machine pan with two meter sticks covering the edges so my substrates can rest. I have to give Ann Osbourne credit for this idea. You can buy them at most hardware stores for about $20-30. For my larger paintings (24″ x 36″ and larger) I use news paper taken from my school and fold the edges to make a hole to hold the paint. I press the substrates in the corners with plastic cups.

All these paints have very different properties. The process of pouring acrylic is unique to the properties of acrylic paint. Yes, you have to cover the canvas or get unpleasant threads, waves, wrinkles, etc. A canvas cover is when an artist covers the entire canvas with wet paint before painting, usually white. Acrylic materials work well as a water-based medium. This adds to the expensive and destructive nature of the process, but it is what it is. Some artists try to cut costs with cheap paint, even using professional paints and homemade latex paints. However, this will only reduce the final quality of the work. Latex home paint is not durable and can deteriorate over time.
