Polyester is a durable, wrinkle-resistant, and easy-care material that’s perfect for many home furnishings, including rugs, cushions, throws, and pillows. The disadvantage of virgin polyester is that it is made from oil, coal or natural gas. This means that when we use virgin polyester, we are destroying the earth’s natural resources. We responded by replacing all virgin polyester in our products with recycled materials. In 2020, we reached the milestone of replacing 79% of virgin polyester in our textile products, and we are accelerating the transition to using recycled polyester in our range of products that use polyester.
In the past, all polyester was made from non-renewable, petroleum-based raw materials, but we are switching to only recycled polyester. The advantage is that polyester can be used again and again without negatively affecting the quality of our products. When we make products from recycled polyester, we give non-biodegradable materials a second life and reduce the amount that might end up in landfills or the ocean. Instead, PET and other polyester sources are used for clothing, storage boxes, kitchen panels and even lighting. Recycled polyester is as good as virgin polyester in appearance, quality and performance and reduces CO2 emissions by around 50%. And the material is clean and safe in all respects.
Recycled polyester makes it possible to reduce dependence on oil. The amount we replace is equal to the amount of harmless fat we remove from the polyester raw material (this does not include the possibility of dyeing and other post-processing of the recycled polyester). With few exceptions, the challenge is not to make polyester itself a recycled material, but to make it available to everyone by making it affordable. Buying products with a lower environmental impact often means paying a higher price. We want to change that by making recycled polyester products affordable and accessible to more people.

Commit to end dependence on fossil fuels by 2030 and use only renewable or recyclable materials. We are accelerating this move towards polyester in our range to replace raw polyester in our textiles with recycled materials. By 2020, replace 79% of virgin polyester used in textiles with recycled polyester. In terms of volume, this means we have replaced 130,000 tonnes of recycled polyester and saved 200,000 tonnes of virgin polyester. We’re not 100% yet, but we’ve made a lot of progress. These numbers make us a leader in the transition to recycled polyester, and we hope our solution will inspire and drive change across the industry.
, we require that all recycled polyester used in our products be sourced from refiners that meet international recycling standards and ensure that our products are traceable through our supplier requirements. By using only recycled polyester that meets international recycling standards, we strive to ensure social, environmental and chemical practices in the production of detergents. We believe the GRS rate is the best rate in the market today. We are working with our partners and textile organizations such as Textile Exchange to further improve standards for recycled materials, including tracking materials outside of recycling units.
When you make products from recycled polyester, PET bottles and other polyester sources find new life in products like clothing, storage boxes, kitchen countertops, and even lighting. When you use them, you get the same quality and performance as pure polyester products. Of course, they are equally clean and safe in all respects. Perhaps most importantly, you contribute to using less raw materials.

So when it comes to choosing the right shade for one home, the right one may not be right for another. However, no matter how old the house is, there are some general rules you can follow when trying to give your home an attractive magazine look. This month at Your Blinds Direct, we’re offering advice on frequently asked questions when choosing the right blinds for your home. Should the blinds match the color of the walls?
How To Go Gray When Your Entire House Is Beige — Designed
There is no simple answer here, your curtains should not match the walls. However, that doesn’t mean you should feel free to choose any color for your blinds; you still want a room that connects in some way. However, you can match the curtains to other elements of the room, such as soft furnishings such as cushions or details such as throws, or match small details such as the wood of the side table or the color of the wardrobe. How you balance the different shades in the room is entirely up to you. Adding faux wood paneling to a room full of wood means you might want to match the tones and colors you already have, but at the same time, something muted and unbalanced can make all that wood feel a little off. As you can see, there is no one way to do things! Remember that too many colors or any shade can be overwhelming and not enough to impress. You need to find the right balance for the room. Is everyone blind at your home match?
While there’s an argument for keeping blinds consistent throughout the home, it can’t be achieved without sacrificing something elsewhere in the decor. That’s because every room in your home serves a different purpose, and most people don’t use the same color scheme throughout their home – if every room is too similar, it will look boring. Instead, you should treat each room as a separate space (unless you have open-plan spaces, in which case matching curtains are fine). If you want a cohesive feel to your decor, consider pairing different styles of blinds in different rooms while using the same color palette. For example, you can use our Woodland Silver Birch curtains in the kitchen, and if you have double or French doors, you can combine these shades of gray with Vista Nordic Allusion blinds in the living room. This way, you can mix textures while keeping the theme running through the decor. The place where matching curtains make the most sense in your home is the bathroom. Many properties now have more than one bathroom or toilet, but in two separate areas. For these rooms, it is best to have matching shutters, such as triangular shutters that share common elements regardless of the distance between the rooms. Add and compare
We talked about neutral tones at the beginning of this post, and if you want to tone it down, this is a very popular tool to complement the color you already have. However, if the rest of your decor is subtle and neutral, you always have the option of matching the color of your home to your signature color. Finish Look at the color scheme of your room and find a color for the blinds that complements the theme. For example, if the majority of the bedroom focuses on cream and magnolia, yellow can be a good way to add warmth by complementing the paint. Our Lima Buttercup Roman Shades come in a mustard yellow color and have a pleated look that works well in this setting. This difference is the difficulty of the two methods. If your walls are darkly painted, perhaps with shades of gray and charcoal in your home office, your upholstery can serve as the perfect canvas for a splash of color. In this case, our Banlight Duo FR Sunshine Vertical Blind can bring life to your workspace. Be careful not to bring in too much contrast or too many contrasting colors, or your decorations can be too eye-catching. From your trend colors
