Metropolitan is a light-medium deep gray with a stormy softness. And because Metropolitan is a cool paint color, you can see the undertones, especially the blue-green undertones at the odd time.
Being a cool gray, Metropola can look a little cold, but its depth and smooth appearance make it look fresh, yet familiar.
Pashmina is a gray color, however it leans more towards light brown than grey. And although it favors heat, it looks well balanced between gray and beige due to the right climate (ie: a room in the north or in the east).
Pashmina is a rich earth-toned gray that provides a neutral background for the room. With a little more body than today’s popular grays and bold colors.
The Best Gray Paint Colors
Thunder is a rich, stormy gray with a medium-deep finish. And not only is it windy, it’s also a little hot.
Now, that’s not to say that Thunder would be considered bold, but it’s definitely a warm-toned gray. And like many warm-toned grays and grays, it’s very slightly purple and sometimes light green. If you are looking for one
Sharp and fresh gray, you might like Metropolitan. But if you like soft, earthy shades of grey, then Thunder could be the color for you!
Kangaroo is a warm beige color, but it lacks the golden warmth of some of the more traditional beige colors that were popular in the early 2000s. Kangaroo can also take on a slight green tone (like a slight wink).

As its name suggests, Storm is a medium deep gray color that has a beautiful, rich, stormy look to it. And since every gray color has undertones, you can see a cool purple in Storm.
It’s too heavy for a dark room (unless you want to do that look), but as long as your room has “moderate” natural light, it’ll be fine. Storm is stormy at first glance with its undertones, it looks very plain grey, however when applied you will notice a sort of mauve (purple-blue) storm cloud undertone.
A Weimaraner is a perfect example of a gray paint color with its beautiful, rich tones. And being gray, a Weimaraner is a WARM paint color known for flashing a distinctive WARM purple tone (meaning it’s mauve-pink, not mauve-blue).

I also want to introduce myself — my name is Annie Thompson and I blog over at All Things Big and Small , where I share affordable DIY and decorating tips for busy families. My family moved into our 1980s townhouse just two years ago and have been living in our dream home ever since while raising our three-year-old. For new homeowners who want big style on a small budget, the first thing I always recommend is to PAIN IT! The paint packs a huge punch for nominal money! And, as much as some people love bright colors – myself included, I always recommend neutral wall colors! We use light gray throughout our home to give it a spacious, airy feel.
Benjamin Moore November Rain is a beautiful gray color that plays well with warm and wood tones. We had lots of original wood paneling in our old 1920’s Craftsman bungalow in our first home and the November rain went so well with the warm cherry wood. Fun fact – our first apartment was 750 sq.m. We only lived there for 4.5 years with our two Danes and a baby!
Benjamin Moore Classic Gray is another winner in my book. We have it in the entryway of our current home and even paint the entire second floor hallway! It’s a shade of gray you can’t go wrong with. Not too blue or too beige!
The Best Neutral Paint Colors
In the adjacent living room and dining room, we used Benjamin Moore’s Balboa Mist because it was so sunny in those rooms that we needed something a little more gray so it wouldn’t wash out too well. This is another favorite of mine, and we will be painting our master bedroom the same color this winter! It matches Benjamin Moore’s Simply White so well as seen on our white trim (which I painted — read more here: The Ultimate Guide to Painting Wood Tornadoes Without Sanding).
And then we have the best and warmest deep gray. If you want a warm deep gray color for your room, add some drama and depth and paint Chelsea Grey! We used it in the kitchen of our old apartment and on the kitchen island of our current home. It’s warm, plays with brown, gray and wood tones and is classic!
