In terms of color, Revere Pewter is similar to Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, but a little warmer and darker. The gray accordingly is a touch cooler and a little more gray. So if you love this family of colors but are looking for a touch of warmth, try Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter.

Revere Pewter is also similar to SW Accessible Beige, which is lighter to the touch with pink and gray tones. In other words, Accessible Beige HC-172 is a warmer gray than Revere Pewter.

Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter Review & Inspiration Ring’s End
LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value. It is the measure of the light that the color reflects, or in other words, how bright the color is. On a scale of 0 to 100, 0 is true black, 100 is pure white.
Dark but not so bright. Painting a room that color doesn’t make it look any brighter.
In rooms with little natural light, consider choosing a color with an LRV of 60 or higher. Or if you’ve got your heart on Revere Pewter, you can lighten it up by 25% or more when mixing it.
Revere Pewter is a beautiful, warm gray. In fact, it’s paler than gray. Of course, it must have a warm lining to get its heat.

Now I know some of you are saying, “I don’t want green ink!” I know what you think. Rest assured there is no Reverend Pewter
Green Often looks like a soft, warm gray or gray. However, in some lighting, only the faintest shades of green may be visible.
If that bothers you, you should probably go for a different color. Personally, I love Revere Pewter. The green tone not only warms up the gray but also gives it a great earthy feel.
Choosing paint colors can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be! Remembering that Pewter Revere has a warm undertone makes it easy to choose a beautiful finish color to complement it.

Pair it with a warm, creamy white and you have the perfect combination. Here are some warm whites that I found great against Revere Pewter:
, anyway! To keep things simple, choose a nice clean white or just plain white.

One of the best things about the HC-172 is its versatility! I’m not kidding, this is a color that goes well with almost everything around it. I think it could be hot or cold like Grange.
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter The Perfect Paint Color?
Note that colors with shades of pink make Revere Pewter appear greener. This could definitely be the look you’re looking for!
This color is almost too good to be true because it can be used anywhere and looks amazing. Here are some ideas of where you can use the HC-172 in your home:
Revere Pewter is a true greige, meaning it’s neither gray nor beige, but has a touch of both. It goes well with warm or cool tones and different colors at home.
Revere Pewter has been popular for decades and it’s easy to see why! This color is a true neutral that goes with everything but is also pretty in its own right. In other words, you still can’t go wrong with this color. It’s still neutral enough to be popular for years to come! Great Neutral Cabinet Colors For Kitchens — The Grit And Polish
Are you looking for the perfect gray paint for your closets and currently browsing its 50 shades? Are you leaning towards the slightly warmer side of things rather than jumping on the cream or beige wave? If so, Revere Pewter might be the color you’ve been looking for!
But, it comes with some very important caveats, as not ALL grays are created equal, and Revere Pewter is definitely a step outside the standard gray box.
Revere Pewter is a HOT gray, meaning it has a little “dirt” or gray in it. Are your closets looking BEIGE? No, it’s not that hot.
While it may look like a very true gray in some lighting, it has green undertones and will be difficult here. Many popular white quartz countertops produce a purple hue instead of green. Now, some still partner with Revere Pewter and enjoy playing as a sub, while others (myself included) worry about these partnerships.
Designer Favorite Paint Colors To Refresh Your Kitchen Cabinets
Let’s take a look at Revere Pewter in my client’s kitchen with the Edgecomb Gray light on the walls…
This next photo compares how warm and green the Reverend Pewter (darkening) is with the tempestuous, cold gaze of Benjamin Moore Stonington Grey.
Revere Pewter has an LRV of 55.77, which means it’s a lighter paint color, but it’s closer to light-medium depth because it has a little more meat on the bones.
However, when polishing the cabinet paint (SATIN finish), you may find that the color looks a little lighter than expected, especially if you’ve seen Revere Pewter (matte or eggshell) on the walls. For this reason, I often recommend using Revere Pewter at 25% or 50% thickness – sample both. Painting kitchen cabinets is a BIG PROJECT; It’s worth taking the time to try it out!

I chose Revere Pewter for my kitchen cabinets and darkened it about 25% to give it more depth. I partnered with Cambria Brittanica Warm, who is AWESOME with Revere Pewter. I also painted our Revere Pewter bedroom/bathroom doors to create a visual connection and LOAD its look with a white finish.
As you can see in the photo to the side, I rearranged the closets to give us more closet space!
But honestly, I regret choosing Revere Pewter for the cabinets and doors. Because? First of all, I regret most of my choices, because I always regret
‘ – the nature of the profession. But the REASON I regret Revere Pewter is that he limits my paint color options for my WALLS – that’s right, my walls.
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter Hc 172: Ultimate Review + Pics!
Revere Pewter is a light to medium deep warm gray with green undertones. To have any kind of contrast with the walls, my walls have to be white or off-white to match the Revere Pewter (restriction). I CAN change things at least once a year, even if I want to paint my walls a light or light-medium paint color, I can’t because Revere Pewter takes over. If I paint the walls a light color other than Respect Pewter, they fight each other. So I would go with white, light OR a much darker color (which I definitely don’t want for my open plan home).
In ALL the photos above, the walls are Benjamin Moore Edgecombe Gray (lit for contrast), but I recently changed the walls to Benjamin Moore White Dove (no choice, I still love the look).
If you’re the type of person who picks a color and sticks to it for months, don’t let the above sway you. If you’re someone who loves fashion even when it’s trendy and you love it even when it’s not, fill your big shoes! And hey, if you’re always happy with warm white/white walls OR a medium to medium black color – PAINT MY FRIEND! But if you’re like me and like to change things up from time to time, Revere Pewter will seriously limit your options going forward.
