Treat your gravity table as you would any other luxury piece of furniture in your home. Clean surfaces with mild soap and water (always without ammonia). Leaks must be dealt with immediately. Glass tops – such as Southport and Essex Table – Windex are certainly acceptable. From e-design and blogs I have never shared a selection of some of my favorite colors here! I’ve talked about how to choose paint colors, but I haven’t given you the details. It’s time to change that!
Now I feel like I need to share a disclaimer that paint colors look different in every room, so even if you’ve spied someone you really like here or an inspirational photo on Pinterest, always,
Get a sample. See how it looks in your home at different times of the day and under different lighting conditions.
My best pick for paint color samples that will save you time and a trip to the paint store (and avoid having a million little sample jars lying around) is to order a 12″ x 12″ sample sheet of Samplize. They use real paint on peels and stick paper so you get an accurate representation of what the color looks like.
Colors Of The Year: Sherwin Williams Evergreen Fog + 3 Other Tren
One final note before we move on to the paint colors themselves – always be sure to include the brand name when looking for a paint color. Many brands have very similar names for their colors (especially white and neutral) and it would be a painful mistake to accidentally get one when you wanted the other!
Double check. I once ordered what I thought was a Wells Gray sample and ended up with a Will Gray! Needless to say, it wasn’t the same. 🙈
Some of my favorite neutral paint colors are from Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Behr. SW Snowbound, Behr Ultra Pure White, BM Winter White, BM White Dove, BM Simply White, SW Extra White, BM Chantilly Lace, SW Eider White, SW Greek Villa, BM Classic Grey, BM Horizon, SW Acceptable Gray
The most perfect white with a hint of warmth. It looks like pure white, but it doesn’t feel cold or sterile.
Taupe Paint Colors
We painted all the trim in our house in Philadelphia this color. It is clean and pure white. It can be a bit harsh for my personal taste, but it’s a great finish, especially if you have a neutral light on your walls and want to make sure there’s a bit of contrast between it and the decor.
Another color from our home in Philadelphia! This really takes on different tones in different lights. We painted every room in our house with it, and even on our first floor, the open plan looked different from the front of the house to the back. It can have a slightly greenish tint in some lights.
A little creamy white, but without too much yellow. Works beautifully on walls, ledges and cabinets. Just be sure to compare it to other whites around you, as they can look a little sloppy next to a very clean white.
This is a bit lighter than the white dove and still has some warmth. It’s another method that works in almost any room on ledges, walls or cabinets.
Benjamin Moore Vs Sherwin Williams (which Paint Is Best For 2022?)
This is what we have around our house right now. The people who renovated our house before us chose it, and frankly, it’s a little too fancy for my taste. I love the trim but wish our walls were a little warmer. If you like crisp, clean white, this is great!
An almost pure white, almost pure white that goes well with other colors. It’s a chameleon – it can be warm or cool depending on the room and the other colors around it.
This is a warmer light gray tone. Works well in rooms with little or no natural light. It looks like a neutral light with a hint of gray. It helps dark rooms feel light without painting them white.
Like Eider White, Greek Villa is a good choice for a neutral light that isn’t pure white. It has a bit of a yellow/beige color to it to feel more of a tan.
Benjamin Moore October Mist (1495) Vs Sherwin Williams Contented (sw 6191) Side By Side Comparison
To use it in our house in Philadelphia, and I’ve recommended it to clients time and time again if they want a warm gray that doesn’t get boring. It makes a great backdrop for furniture and works well in both warm and cool rooms. However, it can turn green in certain lights, so be sure to keep a close eye on your sample.
This is a cool light gray that can read more blue in north-facing rooms thanks to the cooler light. It’s a bright, cheery neutral that feels really fresh and clean.
Warm grey, pleasant gray is very popular and for good reason! It works well in a variety of rooms and lighting and is gray/brown in color. This may be the darkest of the bunch, but don’t let that intimidate you if you’re trying to stay on the lighter side. It will feel a little more saturated and contrast more with the white finish.
So there you go! Some of my favorite light neutral colors. Consider these small samples as a starting point. It will look different on screen than in real life, so if you see something close to what you’re looking for, order a sample and see how it looks in your home!
