So I did something stupid, I’m not sure if the stain and paint should be mixed, but I put on the Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations Bond-coat in Tudor (dark brown with purple). This thing is colored, but it looks like a gel stain. I use a small foam brush.
After that it wasn’t dark enough, so I applied a layer of Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations bond in black and rubbed it with a foam brush.
I am so proud! It just looks like a dark spot, not a color. It turned out like this (some photos are with flash, others are not):

Step 3: Varnish. After leaving the stain to dry for a few days, we finished it with Minwax Fast Drying Polyurethane. We made one coat over the entire surface and then another over the top as we used it in the buffet. Also use a foam brush.

Ikea White Paint Cabinets
If you’ve been reading my blog for a long time, you know I’m a huge fan of IKEA furniture. In fact, 90% of the furniture in my home office is from Ikea, including this popular IKEA Malm hack and my IKEA desk. Our dining chairs are from IKEA. This table and chair in Avery’s room are from IKEA. All the elements that make up these “furniture” in my Attley’s room come from IKEA (PS – you can read about the secrets of painting IKEA laminated furniture in this article).
Seriously, I could go on and on. And while I’ve always been impressed with the quality of IKEA pieces, the truth is that we’ve had some pieces for so long that there are absolutely dents and dents left along the way, which I certainly expect (with every piece of furniture, for the record). And while I was happy to discover the IKEA furniture painting trick later, I never had a good way to fix these boards.
