The real difference between yesterday and today was finding the right paint color for jewelry. We want it to be as close as possible to get the built-in look right, and as you know, “Ikea White” is difficult to compare. I failed the first time, so I reassembled all my color swatches to try again, very close to the white Ikea.
It was the first time I used Glidden’s Crepe Linen White (top row, far right) and it was so bright. This time I used Glidden Parchment White (second from top right) and it was almost perfect. As you can see, these are all very, very close matches – I was just checking my eyes. Finally, the ticket was a liter of white satin parchment.
Painting! Now I never lose the edge – it takes too long and with the right brush (which I really like) I can easily trim the part with no problem – I know I’ll probably do a few layers last night. I picked up some masking tape, hoping to get the job done as quickly as possible.
