When it comes to cream paint colors, Sherwin Williams Antique White is less of a problem. The theme, as a wall color, is beautiful, but it is often used on kitchen cabinets or trim, and problems begin.

, a yellow color with a neutral base for clarification. In addition to this neutral base, it is possible to take orange, red (pink) or green colors – which we will see in the old white tomorrow.
If it’s a north-facing room, classic white is a great way to balance natural light (also good for east-facing rooms). If your room faces south or the sun sets in the west in the evening, Antique White will face its warmth and will not reflect “sunlight.”
Antique Cream has an LRV of 72 and will add depth to your walls if you want a cream with less body compared to other popular cream paint colors. However, it’s not so deep that it feels heavy or heavy.

However, that’s one of the reasons why Antique White’s LRV doesn’t have a great trim or cabinet color. The “average” LRV for cabinet trim and color is 82-94. With the LRV 72, you’re looking out of the white range, into the “light” range, so it’s got a little more meat on its bones. This is it
1. Like the cabinet or trim color, you really want to go with a color that’s a shade or two darker, darker than most people want when painting multiple rooms. To upgrade to a new look.

2. Deeper and warmer than the trim and cabinet colors, narrow down the paint colors you want around (especially cool colors), and come sooner.

In this next picture, you can see the white and antique trim on the kitchen island. While it pairs well with a stone fireplace, notice how the travertine tile floor’s granite looks against the tones below. I mean, it can be used, but this is kind of strong.
My e-design client was looking for a new wall color and didn’t want to change the finish (which is necessary when going through the whole house). I gave some ideas for new wall color options and a kitchen island to reduce A LOT of old white in this space.

Glazed Kitchen Cabinets At Home With The Barkers
In this next photo, you can see the power of old white in these painted cabinets. My client hired me to find a new cabinet color because the old white cabinets clashed with the travertine tile backsplash.
A dark background can make things more difficult, such as old white paint or cabinet paint. Some cream colors have a strong neutral base. The neutral color, the softer…and the old white has more of a tone to it than I like.
As with any paint color, I recommend using a SAMPLIZE. Sampleize is a paint and stick sampler that you can have around your room for half the price of regular sample bottles, delivered to your door!
With a hint of warmth in old white, it’s better to associate it with a warm white rather than a white or light white.

Ahhhh, here’s the golden question (literally). Antique White’s GOLD treatment and its below-average LRV (for trim/cabinet), Antique White looks tough. However, if you follow a few rules, you should be fine!

Before you decide what color you want on your walls, you need to decide what style you’re going for.
Warm paint colors help to soften the previous white approach because they blend better. Warm colors are cream, beige and brown.
Cool paint colors will “enhance” the old white and increase the warmth/yellow, making it look stronger. Cool colors are gray (in its various shades), blue, green and purple. Although it is said to be a warm color, it does contain oil.
Another helpful tip is to look for colors with an LRV of around 50 or less. Some dark colors will work (other than beige/cream and the usual white tone). Cleaning in an LRV? Read this.

So with this information in your back pocket, check out some of the color ranges below, and be aware that not all colors in these families are effective, this is just a place to start!
Personally, I only look at the beige range because the cold tones seem stronger with the old white, the combination is very strong and very different – but not for me (not all at once. ..)
If you want to reduce the yellowness of your previous white trim, you can use a dark brown color, but not if you are too soft, the color is a little different.

Old white can be limited as a cabinet and trim color, but if you’re creating a palette for your home, it’s a great companion for many colors…
