The style of your home plays a big role in choosing the best color. Do you have a colonial style house? White siding is your best bet. Modern or contemporary? Black will complement your design well. Victorian? Muted colors are your friend. Always check your home’s architectural style before falling in love with a color scheme that may not match.
Although it may not be obvious, the type and color of your roof will play a big role in which interior color will work best for your home. If you are going to change the color of your house but not restore your roof, you must choose a color that not only makes your brick, but also for your roof.

A Bit Of Brick For The Entryway: From Beautiful Walls To Lasting Floors!
When we moved into the house, it was painted a sharp color with creamy ivory trim that really brought out the whole Cape Cod style of our new house. It’s nice I think, and matches well with the bricks, but it just doesn’t pop, and looks like an old house. It almost made me dust 🤧. Honestly, it’s boring and too predictable.
The door was dark green, but again I felt old and dusty when I looked at the door. As you can see below, our dog, friend, wants to leave 😆.

Unfortunately, the door is still not good 🤔. Even after replacing the old brick stairs with this beautiful DIY Mahogany Staircase, I still don’t think this front door is quite possible. We even considered replacing it completely, but the old door was so sturdy that it didn’t seem like a good option. Especially considering how expensive good doors can be. Maybe one day, but wait until you see the new color make our old door POP now…
Pow! Welcome to our home. See how the dark blue color accentuates our door. Shine bright, you can catch the rainbow 🌈…

I especially like the look of the cedar shake with the dark blue color. You may find that using a semi gloss on cedar shakes really makes them pop instead of disguising their unique style. The pictures above and below really prove to me why I think our combination of custom colors is “

So tell me. Do you see the blue in the bricks? That is the main reason I want this color. I just knew it would work because the brick had a similar tone of blue in it.
