Ikea Malm Dressing Table Makeup Storage – So anyone remotely surprised to find out that my new vanity/makeup storage solution is from IKEA, hands up?
I’m going to go ahead and assume no one’s hands are up yet. My love for Ikea makeup storage and Ikea in general is well documented, but you might be surprised to hear that I
Ikea Malm Dressing Table Makeup Storage
When looking for makeup storage ideas for your new bedroom, head straight to Ikea. No, it took me at least five minutes to open the Ikea website and start telling Terry that we’ve been waiting for a long time to visit the store.
My Makeup Obsession: My Dressing Table Setup
Of course, I’m kidding: Before buying a house, I was thinking about buying a luxury one, and I
Actually go for one, but the truth is, I kept coming back to IKEA MALM. I love this desk not only because the clean, minimalist look suits my taste, but also because of the long, shallow drawer that holds all the supplies:
(The clear chair is from Tesco, of all places. The mirror is from eBay – find a similar one here).
When it comes to makeup storage, I prefer shallow containers with some detail that allow you to see everything at a glance, without you even knowing the lipstick is in there somewhere. is, but it always finds you. . It goes to the bottom of the pile. So last year I bought acrylic Moji drawers – I still love them (and now I’m going to use them for jewelry as I don’t need them for makeup so they don’t go to waste!) but Terry did not do so. I didn’t really like the giant makeup tower in the bathroom and I liked the idea of having everything in one drawer, so the decision was made and finally the empties were delivered last week.
Sorbus Large Clear Makeup Organizer
The dressing table organizer inside the drawers is also from Ikea (I had clear plastic inserts from the Blenjen range – Godmorgen range, but I prefer them because they look cleaner. Make-up there, a little for future purchases. C capacity (though not as much as you might see). While my makeup collection may sound ridiculous to some, I know it’s small compared to makeup lovers – lots of colors. And such. I’m not very interested in collecting, so I mostly buy things that I use. All the time (and lots of red lipstick, obviously…), which made it all worth it. Made it easy to keep some in the drawer. However, if you have a lot of makeup, you may need extra makeup storage! I kept the Muji acrylic bowl for my brushes on the dresser, but if I could probably find a place for them if I really wanted to.
One of the most difficult parts of the project was finding the right mirror. I’ve wanted a plate with lights since I was little, but everything we could find was too expensive, and even Ikea’s “Hollywood lights” that you can put around an existing mirror will take anything. Room over budget. Terry finally managed to track down the empty mirror on eBay and traveled to Edinburgh with his dad last week to collect it. I absolutely love it and it’s such a luxury that I don’t have to go back after years of standing at the bedside or doing my makeup in front of the bathroom mirror. And proceed to collect different items.
So what do you do when you like your new vanity a little more than is entirely rational? Buy another one, of course! In my defense, it wasn’t really my fault that we ended up with two Malm cabinets…the first one we ordered came with a small mark on the front of the drawer – not a big deal, but nice. , you know, you order a new cabinet, you want it to be perfect, so we called Ikea and they said no problem, they’d send replacement drawers. Fast forward to Wednesday morning when there was a knock on the door (actually a call at 7am saying they were leaving. I guess can’t complain too much given what happened. Next time though… ) and there were a couple of Ikea deliveries…with a new wardrobe. They didn’t even want to take the first one back, so instead of replacing the drawers (which we wanted) they decided to send us a brand new desk.
I was of course very excited about it and immediately started thinking about all the new makeup I should buy to fill it up, but Terri quickly cut it off by saying that it really is. There was none. We need two spares, so until we can find another use for them, we will give them away to someone who needs them. Well, we thought about it for a while, and since we really like the simple look that doesn’t look too “dressing table” without the balcony mirror, we thought we’d use it as a console. will use table in the living room. In fact, we planned on getting one eventually too, so we thought it would be silly not to at least try it out and see how it looks. Hey, I wonder if Terry will see if she fills her makeup drawer.

ADDITIONALLY ADVERTISED: Over the past few weeks I have been absolutely inundated with questions from people asking for a direct link to the eBay auction where I bought my mirror – my mirror was a private sale (ie someone bought it Bought for myself and then decided to sell. This). So I’m afraid I can’t provide the link and I don’t know the brand name or where you got it from. Any other questions about the table itself should be directed to Ikea, which I believe will be the case. Happy to help you Did you know that today you can take most of our products to your home in Singapore and enjoy them right away?
It is actually a wardrobe with space for makeup and jewelry. But it works well as a desk, a place to leave keys or mail by the front door, or to stack magazines behind the couch.

Forests help balance the atmosphere, clean the air we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nurture wildlife biodiversity and provide housing for local communities whose livelihoods depend on forests. 90% of plant and animal species on the planet need forests to survive. They provide food, fuel, timber and many other environmental services that we depend on. Obtaining approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from approximately 50 countries has a significant impact on the world’s forestry and wood processing industry and is largely responsible for the positive impact on wood supply. Responsible timber supply and forest management ensures that the needs of people who depend on forests are met, businesses run sustainably, forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.
We strive for strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We do not allow wood from illegal forest areas or forest areas with high conservation values or socially conflicted areas into our supply chain.
