Popular Grey Blue Paint Colors – A few months ago I decorated the living room in our home in NC (you can see it if you missed the newly decorated space). While I’m happy with how it looks so far, there’s still a lot to do with adding some color to the white background:
Maybe some large colorful artwork will do the trick, but I’ve also considered blue wallpaper or painting. When I asked for blue color recommendations last year and decided to help you all out in your blue color search, I got so many helpful tips from you! After receiving over 400 suggestions via Instagram and Facebook, I’ve collected and shared eight of my favorite shades of blue. Learn, love, and recommend these colors you already use!

So… let’s move on. Using each color’s LRV (Light Reflectance Value) as a guide, I’m listing my favorite blouses from darkest to lightest. Under LRV, the black color of the paint will be visible and felt once it is on the wall.
Best Blue Gray Paint Colors For 2022
Let’s start with a certain blue color – you may remember from our 2020 home decor articles that Sherwin Williams Naval called it the color of the year. He became a reader and favorite! A dark navy that looks great on walls and looks great on boxes too:
Being the darkest blues on the list, I love that it’s not fun at all!
Benjamin Moore’s Mr. Gray, a teal-tinged teal, gives it a relaxed feel. A great example of this is Bree of ZDesign in her beautiful living room at home:
Hale Navy is the most recommended navy color from everyone who shares their favorites! A beautiful shade of green in every room I see. Sarah at Life on Virginia Street previously used it on an office wall – I really like the look on her wall:

Batik Indigo is the color of blue dye you would expect from the name – the same color as batik fabric. It may be strong and powerful for the four walls in the room, but in small doses it is definitely a winner! How gorgeous is this nursery designed by the talented Michelle @ design.by.belle with a mountain front painted in Batik Indigo?!

Blueprint is Behr’s color for 2019 and the color I chose for the accent wall in my daughter’s bedroom:
Km4871 Gulf Wind
A gorgeous medium blue with a hint of light blue! My favorite thing is that it works with any color I put next to it, so I’m not limited by the choice of bedding, pillows and other accessories – it’s the paint color. You can see more in my daughter’s bedroom with the blue paint colors used in her room (and the blue she painted at the same time).
Benjamin Moore describes Van Courtland Blue as an old world blue decor that works well in most modern spaces. Looking at the color, it’s pretty standard, and I don’t know if I’ve painted all four walls of the room this color, but wow – it looks great on this laundry room cabinet by Stephanie Gamble:
Benjamin Moore smoke is one of two blues that is not on the radar for big blues until some recommend it. After seeing it used, I fell in love! You can see the cabinet in Jillian Harris’ gorgeous laundry room:

Latest Paint Color Trends In 2022
Palladian Blue has been on my to-do list for a few days for my door color – a lovely soft green (UN says blue, but looks more green than blue to me!). Laura from Laura Murphy Interiors painted the front door of her beautiful home Palladian Blue and I can’t help but love it:

Take some of your favorite things and paint them on canvas, or sample leather paint samples and mix them together to see what the room will look like.
