Front Door Colors For Brick Houses

It gives a good balance between the main background color and some details that can be a bit bolder without overwhelming the house. For most people, the goal is to put it together and look gorgeous with just a little “Wow, that looks so good!” Wow factor.

The base color is what would normally be a base paint or plaster. This is sometimes called the field color. It would be a nice rich shade that you can live with or is neutral enough to resell.

Paint also tends to be the biggest financial investment, so it makes sense to choose something that can be a beautiful backdrop for years.

To use this information for a brick exterior, you must use brick as one of three colors. Depending on the amount of brick, it is likely to be the main or secondary color.

Before you start looking at other colors, you also need to consider the shade of your brick. There are likely to be variations in color throughout the area, as with all bricks, but the general brick can be red, coral, orange, pale peach, gray or even shades of purple.

Taking a digital photo and viewing it from a distance can help figure this out if it’s not obvious. A photo can also be helpful when looking at colors.

Be sure to keep the swatches on top of your brick and photograph the entire grouping together to get a different view of how the colors work together.

Consider the color of other architectural features. If they are permanent or you just don’t want to change them now, they must match well with the colors chosen for the facade. Look objectively at these areas: roof, windows and moldings, railings, stucco, vinyl siding, flower beds or plant material.

Some of these items you’ll want to paint with your primary or secondary color, but some will just stay as is, so you’ll have to work with them. You should always be able to work around things that can’t be changed, and sometimes it’s surprising how different things can be transformed with the right colors… So yes, there is even aesthetic hope for that ugly roof that you are. The 2022 Best Exterior Colors For Houses Will Inspire You To Paint

I stopped posting before and after photos since I now do zoom calls where I only work in one part of the house. The owner sent me this picture after the house was painted.

If you are getting a new standing seam metal roof, don’t have them install it the way this house was installed!

The finish of the house is extremely important as it shows the structure and outline of the house. Think of it this way. The interior design shows support for the heavy roof above. If the trim is covered or not the right color, it will not appear to support the roof. This metal roof does not end at the roof, but wraps around the bond plate and hides the finish. This makes the roof too heavy. SCARY!

Painting this metal roof area will make it look like the roof installation was done right.
