Hale Navy Benjamin Moore Sherwin Williams – Benjamin Moore Hale Navy is one of the most popular paint colors – and for good reason! I’m sharing some of my favorite spaces with this paint color, including a newly remodeled room!

Benjamin Moore Hale Navy #HC-154 is one of Benjamin Moore’s most popular paint colors for a reason! It’s a rich, true navy paint color that pairs well with many other paint colors, so you can use it as a neutral color in your home. Benjamin Moore describes it as any shade of dark blue with a classic navy undertone. With a perfect balance of warm and cool tones, this is one of those colors that goes with almost anything! It goes well with many different interior styles.

I first used Benjamin Moore Hale Navy in our home six years ago when I painted our home office. It was actually Sherwin Williams Urban Bronze for years (I loved it too!), but I wanted a change and painted it navy blue. I use eggshell coating whenever we paint the chalkboard and walls, and I did the same here in our office.

Farmhouse Paint Colors: 2021 Trends

Our office receives natural light from the south and north, so the dark blue here was a little less intense. This is especially true since Benjamin Moore painted the other three walls white.

I also decided to paint the thermofoil cabinets in our Hale Navy powder room with a semi-gloss finish. I wasn’t sure if the paint would hold up on the plastic cabinets, but they held up incredibly well and still look that way! I noticed one thing. The color looks a little lighter here, probably because I used a white primer. Primer is not needed in the office because the walls are already dark. So if you like the more intense Hail Navy versions, I would consider a tinted primer when painting! But remember that the gloss of the paint also affects the intensity of the color, as it reflects more or less light.

Over time, I painted the inside of our front door Hale Navy. Although I really like this color, it felt like too much contrast in this space that doesn’t get much natural light. But this is a good option for the color of the door!

In 2020, while I was at home at the beginning of the year, I decided to change things in our office and painted the board and railing wall Benjamin Moore Simply White. The room I spent a lot of time in didn’t like dark blue every day. But when we drew him, I really missed him. I knew I couldn’t stay in the office. So I focused on the new room!

Our Favorite Blue Paints

Can you believe this is what our den looked like after we moved in?! It was my craft room/junk room/exercise room etc.

About five years later, we did the first major renovation after several changes to our coastal salt. For the first time, the room looked like it should be. This is what our den looked like when everything, including the board and box, was painted Benjamin Moore’s plain white.

Fast forward to a few years later. We still loved the room, but the addition of the pool house was finished and it felt like the space needed to function differently than before. Since we now have another light and bright Living Space (I missed Hale Navy from our office), I quickly finished a day’s painting job. I shared the news about last year’s Fall Home Tour.

But lately I’ve also wanted to add a little dimension to the room, so I’m sharing with you the latest updates and how the room looks today. The board and batten walls have been painted Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, and we now have linen blackout curtains and wireless bamboo blinds. This is the perfect cozy reading room or place to watch a movie!

One of my favorite features is the addition of a new gallery wall. I had drone footage of us from our last stay at Hola Beachs 30A. It’s fun to have a little bit of Florida in this place!

We absolutely love the added dimension to the space by painting the boards and rail navy blue! Now the room is much nicer!

Our House: Modern Farmhouse Paint Colors

Since Benjamin Moore Hale Navy is primarily a neutral, there are many other colors that go well with it. Below are some of my favorite colors that pair well with Hale Navy.

If you want to try large pre-painted color swatches, I would definitely check out the sample piece to pick the perfect navy blue paint color and pair for your home! Their large hides and cuts are made with real paint (not dyed to mimic color), so this will definitely help you narrow down your choices.

There are some great navy colors out there, but Benjamin Moore Hale Navy and Sherwin Williams Naval are still my favorites!

We have used both in projects and they are both my favorites. In fact, since I’m not a big fan of color matching, they’re pretty similar if you want a specific brand.

Both colors are true navy blue. In the next section, I’ll share examples of how we’ve used Hale Navy. But in our Tudor convertible we used SW Naval in the kitchen and here is the end result. It’s such a beautiful color, especially with the bright white and gold.

Bottom line: You can’t go wrong with any color. If you’re looking for a slightly darker and darker color, try Sherwin Williams Naval. But Benjamin Moore Hale Navy is still my favorite and here’s how it looks in our house!

You better believe it. Hale Navy is more classic than Primary Blue and less regal than Royal Blue – it really is the epitome of ‘navy blue’.

Hale Navy is definitely a cool paint color – not a single warm note in this guy!
