Make An Image Transparent
We can save the PowerPoint presentation to an image if we want to use the slides as images. However, in some cases we want to save a design as an image and keep the background 100% transparent.
The bad news is that saving PowerPoint in the image option (in the File dialog) will not allow us to keep the transparent background when we save the slides. But the good news is that we can use the Save as Image option in the graphic or design to save them with 100% transparency.
For example, let’s look at one of the templates available at SlideModel.com, one of my favorite PowerPoint template providers. They provide high quality PowerPoint templates that are 100% editable so that the presenter or game designer has “full control” to customize the slides to their own needs. This is definitely one of the main advantages of using editing templates and images created with PowerPoint templates compared to other providers or even free PowerPoint templates without editing.
In this example I want to export the map image with 100% transparency so that we can use it later to make another graphic, in this case using Photoshop, but it could be in any graphics application other or for any other reason.

Once we have selected the graphic, we can right-click on the graphic or design and then select the “Save as Image…” option in PowerPoint.
A new File dialog will appear where you can specify the output format and filename to use. Here you will need to select the Portable PNG Network Graphics format *.png as the save type option.
Once saved, the output image will retain transparency and this can be used in any other graphic. In this case, we will use it to prepare a new graphic in Photoshop, as shown below.
For that I added a PNG image with transparency into the new image I was creating in Photoshop and as you can see the world map retains full transparency and inserted it as a new layer in the Photoshop editor.

There is a checkbox for a transparent background in the File>Export As dialog… you ticked it, right?
This option if you choose File > Quick Export as PNG – so make sure you choose File > Export as… and select the png format in the export dialog.

What I addressed at the top of my answer was how to have a transparent background for your .png instead of a white background, so that’s what you clearly asked for – in your comment to my answer you added another constraint the impression you submitted. it. there: that you also want to crop or crop the edges of your figure – and it’s possible that when you refer to “white space” in your OP, you didn’t mean to ask about white vs. transparency, but no there but maybe the “waste composition space” issue… best to address this in Photoshop before exporting your composition with the Image>Move… Transparent Pixels command.
