Starring Joanna Gaines? When she launched her new paint line with Kilz earlier this year, Johanna shared her favorite paint colors for every room, including the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room.

To create the ultimate place to relax and catch some Zzz’s, Jonah recommends a rich yet relaxing shade of blue for bedroom walls. “The bedroom is a great place to take a risk and use a little more color,” shares Joanna Janis. “I want clients to use ‘Weekend’ in their bedroom. This color makes me feel at home on the weekend.”

If the holidays are your happy time, you’ll love displaying this shade in your home that’s almost identical to Magnolia’s “Weekend.”
Just like a real spa, the bathroom can feel relaxing and sheltered with soothing and beautiful shades of gray on the walls. “I love the idea of using something fresh and clean in the bathroom, like my favorite gray ‘wedding band,’” says Joanna.
“For high-traffic areas like kitchens and living rooms—and any room—I like to keep things simple and use a creamy, neutral white like ‘Shiplap.’
The star took it a step further and paired it with fresh white trim, “[these colors] create a bright, clean space and provide a versatile backdrop for decor,” says Joanna.

Joanna’s favorite color for trim is the “True White” shade. Pair with neutrals, light colors or dark shades – it literally goes with everything.
When in doubt, go with a shade of green “Right now I’m drawn to fresh botanical shades like ‘Magnolia Green,’” says Joanna. “I’ve always been drawn to nature in my design work and really love bringing a touch of it inside. I think it’s a fun option for kitchen cabinets or any space that needs a touch of nature.” The color is perfect for brightening up a bathroom, entryway, guest room or any other small space.

Johanna no doubt has her own style When I think of “fixer upper” style, I’m automatically drawn to farmhouse, French, industrial and cottage design elements. Joe has a unique way of using simple and fresh design features to create a timeless look. He has a special gift for transforming old objects into new and wonderful interior designs
1. Start with a neutral palette with some subtle light colors In each of Johanna’s fixer-uppers, she uses neutral colors and brings in bright colors with a pop. It gives your designs a nice simple, fresh and clean slate. Here are some paint colors that go with that “fixer upper” style.
2. Combine your materials and textures Jonah uses a variety of mediums and materials – wood, metal, leather, fabric, etc. Wooden flooring is almost a home and design element in a home. Wood elements can help warm and invite your space but don’t stop there… layer the structure with a high-density textured material like burlap. You can also bring the warmth of wood with wooden furniture The images below are a good example of how Joe combines different materials
3. Use something architectural and unexpected as a decorative focal point Whether it’s a large shutter behind your sofa or some old windows over your fireplace, this is one of my favorite aspects of Joe’s design. I love seeing how he uses different pieces of architecture and art in his designs. You won’t find pieces like this in your typical home decor store, so hunting for treasures is half the fun

5. Clean Out and Find New Uses for Things You Already Have All of Joe’s designs look effortlessly simple and fresh. He doesn’t clutter or over-decorate – and almost everything has a useful purpose. Sometimes less is more.
“Fixer Upper” style isn’t something you can achieve overnight, as Joe makes it seem on the show, but he spends hours planning before entering “design day.” This style takes time and evolves over time.Like Jonah Gaines if you look back at some of his first design releases, you can really see how far he has come as a designer. But starting with these 5 basic steps will get you on the right track to your fixer upper! When you’re trying to redesign your home but can’t figure out what colors go together, things can get a little frustrating. Especially if you bought a house and every room has 1980s floral wallpaper like mine! Walking back and forth from the paint store with a swatch is also a pain.I think I’m human when all of my swatches are trying to pick a paint color at the same time.All I did was browse Pinterest, look for inspiration, and try to find a color that looked like it. Of course, every room color looks different in your room, but I think it’s much easier to visualize a color when you see it on someone’s wall, right? And since I’m a huge Fixer Upper fan, I decided to put together some color schemes for the whole house inspired by Joanna Janis herself. So we’re going to talk about Johanna’s favorite colors and how she brings them together to create a home that’s open, inviting and flows seamlessly.
So first let’s talk about Joanna’s old favorites I wanted to share them first because they are some of mine I have used these colors in my own home and I can tell you they are just as beautiful as fixer uppers! At the Fixer Upper show, Joanna really gravitated toward the dusty blues and greens. A very light, airy, cottage type color that I absolutely love! So here’s a fixer-upper color scheme for the whole house based on Joanna’s throwback preferences.

Let’s start with the trim color An easy way to make your home more cohesive is to stick to one trim color Joanna uses Sherwin Williams Alabaster and sometimes Sherwin Williams Pure White for her trim. Use one color for trim throughout your home and you’ll have a home where rooms flow from one to the other
Every Home Needs a Neutral Wall Color Joanna likes to use gray in her home for the main living area, some of her favorites are Sherwin Williams Mindful Grey, Oyster Pearl and Passive Grey. Repose Gray is a lighter shade than Mindful and looks great in an open-plan living space. A friend of mine chose this color for her open plan living room and dining room and she loves it! However, before you paint each wall, do a color test first! 🙂
Going for some beautiful accent colors Joanna said she really likes the air and green and I can say without a doubt that Sherwin Williams Sea Salt is one of the most beautiful paint colors I have ever used. It’s no wonder why it’s so popular with Jonah and other designers. It’s the perfect teal and looks great in any room. I used it in my bathroom and laundry room makeover!
In my opinion Sherwin Williams Comfort Gray isn’t really too gray it’s another dusty teal and I love it! Jonah uses this color in living rooms and bedrooms that need a little bolder paint, but never too much! Perfect for guest room or office
