Before we moved in and my parents came and helped me build the house, I started a big project myself! To be honest, I didn’t make it alone, so thanks again to my mom and dad! The only thing I didn’t like about our new place was the rusty red accent wall in the main room and kitchen.

Compared to our old house in the sky, the new place has fewer windows and less natural light (but beautiful trees!). The red wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t match any of our decor and to be honest, I’m not a fan of red. Also, the whole place looked small, cramped and dark. The rest of the walls here were white, so I decided to paint an accent wall to match the rest of the natural area. #best decision
The solid part matched the color of the paint. I’ve chosen paint many times in my life and ended up with a white paint color – Benjamin Moore White Dove (with the help of my interior designer friend Len), but it was a bit difficult to match the current white paint color.
I picked up about 20 white replacements at Home Depot and did my best to match the white. Our apartment owner eventually found Benjamin Moore’s basic white paint that can be bought off the shelf. It was easy!
Now that the photo is done, I’m so glad we decided to just go for it! Be brighter, bigger and more open! But I got to thinking, why is it so hard to choose paint? Who knew there were so many white people! I thought it would be fun to reach out to some of my decorator and design friends to see what they had to say about shades of white, and they had some great tips.

Sweet, not my favorite color white! I feel like I’m learning all these things. In other words, the “white” of my floors is Behr’s Swiss Coffee. I love that it’s soft and not too white (it doesn’t show dirt either).
It would probably look great on the wall…soft and inviting and not too fancy. You can’t tell it’s not true white until you put something white next to it.
My favorite white is Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace. It is very clean, white and works well throughout the room, as does millet. My choice of white kitchen cabinets has yet to fail me.
Behr’s Ultra Pure White is my favorite available! Love Farrow & Ball’s Wimborne White, but a bit pricey!

Benjamin Moore Decor White – the purest white to be found with the smallest shades of gray (if your space has good natural light, go with this!). Benjamin Moore White Dove. Neutral but creamy white (loved the trim). Farrow & Ball All White is a pale white with warm tones.
Many of my favorites are blondes. It often depends on whether you’re getting a lot of light or if you’re mixing it up.
If you want a light white, I like Benjamin Moore’s Light Light White (ask the store for the base color). I think super white is a little white and white is a little white.
If the room has browns and creams and it’s warm whites, I like white doves and white herons slightly grayish whites. It projects a bluish gray color in the absence of direct sunlight, but appears bright white during the day. I always go with Benjamin Moore because that’s what I use, but I’m sure other paint brands are great too.

White is very different in every home and setting (depending on which way you bend the light), but this is mine. The white color set by Benjamin Moore leans slightly towards deep white with depth, a soft and warm grey.
It never feels too cold and is yellow enough to feel cozy. We use white in our living room, kitchen and our bedrooms and it makes every space feel so fresh.
Alabaster White by Sherwin Williams I think Joanna Gaines wears and is my idol. It is slightly warm white, so it makes the room less cozy. Perfect for that rustic/antique white look too!
The most recommended brand of paint for coverage and quality is Benjamin Moore, one thing you need to remember when painting a light accent white wall is that you need a really good primer (perhaps a tinted primer) so the color fades. Show through. through
The 10 Best Interior Paints Of 2024
It’s hard to choose white people because there are so many different voices. The perfect off-white is Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace, which looks white in almost any light. I recommend completing the mat in Benjamin Moore’s Aura series.
We painted our master bedroom. Silky White by Behr. I wish the name was cooler 😐 but I really like it. Nice warm white though.
I used Farrow and Ball Vet on our walls and trim. It’s definitely an investment, but it’s a beautiful white, so it was worth it once I got it. If you’re renting, I don’t recommend color matching to save money.
