The Deltron BC system consists of solid, metallic and pearl/mica colors with high opacity. Note: Activation of DELTRON BC (Basecoat) may be required in cases of heavy film build-up (i.e. more than four coats), commercial vehicle, motorcycle or rim painting where higher impact resistance is required. This applies to PPG Custom Finishes Vibrance collection such as Harlequin, Radiance ll Candy, Prizmatique and 3-layer finish.
For extreme temperature and humidity conditions (>35’C or >70%) BC can use extra slow solvent DT840.
Grade Damp – To remove minor Deltron BC blemishes, sand the part with fine sandpaper (P800 – P1200 or P1000 Abralon Damp) after 20 minutes, then apply a base coat before applying the clear coat. Use only damp fine sandpaper and avoid excessive use of water when removing the knife.
Note: Do not wet large surfaces of Deltron BC Basecoat. Wet sanding can cause excessive water absorption by the base coat and can reduce the mechanical properties of the system, especially in subsequent top coats.
