Valspar Gray Green Paint Colors – We are painting Myrtle’s house in a few months and I am trying to decide on paint colors. I don’t want to spoil the choice on this one. Repainting a room is painful, but repainting the whole house is extremely difficult. So I did a lot of painting by comparing and collecting scraps of paint. You might remember this post about blue-green. While I still love all the colors, I’m looking for some softer shades in the same family. Below are my choices for grey/blue/green colors.
This color is hard to find for a room shot and the blogger said she repainted the room with one of the shots because it came out blue (first image below). However, Emily Henderson named it one of her top 10 picks, and it looks very different in the second photo below. The swatch is too green-toned for me, so maybe the color can look very different depending on how bright the room is. Regardless, I think this paint color is worth at least a try!
Valspar Gray Green Paint Colors
If you’re thinking about the beautiful bathroom I wrote about last week, this paint name might ring a bell. It’s actually the same color used in this amazing bathroom renovation. It’s more of a clean teal with a little less gray than some of the others, but it’s totally fresh and airy.

The color is very similar to oyster shell, but perhaps a little less intense. Again, the amount of blue or green will depend on the lighting in the room. However, I am so in love with the color of this dining room.

Place it in a place that doesn’t get much natural light. If you do, I’m afraid it will be very gray. Leaning towards this for the lounge/kitchen at Myrtle House.
This color, although beautiful, is more intense than the one above. It is not one of those colors that cannot be grouped into one color category. Me when you see it I think “definitely blue”. It would be very beautiful in the bathroom. It is also a prime candidate for a master bedroom. I don’t know if I would put it in a large living space; It might be a little too much.

Another rich color that is perfect for a bedroom or bathroom. Gray Wisp is a gray-purple color. There is definitely more green than blue in this paint color.

I love gray walls as much as the next girl, but sometimes I just want a real gray. Not brown, not greenish, not crimson. Just beautiful, soft gray. It can actually be a little hard to find a 100% pure gray color (even some of the ones below have a hint of another shade, which I’ll explain), but it’s pretty close.

Although I love gold, I’ve never been bold enough to paint an entire room with it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the comfort of gold painted rooms, but considering our largest house to date was 830 square feet (with 7′ ceilings…), I never had the luxury of going for (or gold for ) In this case). I’ve always kept things light and airy to make the room seem bigger. However, if I had a spacious farmhouse like Happy Marcia’s, I would choose a warm gold color.
I am a big fan of gray wall paint. It’s a great neutral and adds a clean, modern feel to almost any room. However, I have come to realize that not all grays are created equal. We painted most of the Brooklyn house a very cool gray (Sherwin Williams grill, to be exact). While it’s a great color, it’s always been too cold and sterile for my taste. This set me on the hunt for the perfect gray color that isn’t too cool but also doesn’t fall into the “dark beige” color category. Here are my favorites at the moment. 🙂
If I had my way, I’d paint every wall in my house a shade of light gray-blue-green. I always recommend this color to people and have memorized almost every shade the major paint companies offer (true story). It creates such a relaxing yet sophisticated look that you really can’t go wrong using it in any room. I want to share my favorite versions I’ve found and hopefully take the guesswork out of some of your search for the perfect shade.
