16 X 28 Cabin Floor Plans – This single story home has a 1 or 2 bedroom option downstairs (see 915-15 for 1 bedroom option). Its simple design makes the house affordable to build, and it is full of light. The bedrooms have plenty of space, and the house uses its raised roof for extra storage or anything else you want to use. We do not list footage in the square loft, because with such a steep roof it is not legally suitable as a living room. Next, the loft is 6’8″ higher than most of its space. The loft is accessed via a staircase. The plan offers two options for loft space: Option 1: full loft with kitchen, bathroom, living room. front bedroom .The staircase is in the kitchen. Option 2: two lofts are separated by a cathedral ceiling above the living room, and the upper parts have a wall space that opens the living room. There are two.stairs, one for each loft and the kitchen and the front bedroom.
The kitchen is large and has a dishwasher, full range and integrated microwave. An under-the-tank water heater ensures that you never run out of hot water, and it’s out of sight. A small fireplace is conveniently located in the corner of the large room. One bedroom has a washer/dryer closet off the kitchen. The two bedroom home has a washer/dryer in the kitchen downstairs. You may choose to convert the rear bedroom closet near the shower into a washer/dryer closet.
This house was built on a lot and was not designed to be on wheels.

Chalet 16′ X 20′
In addition to the required house plans, you will also need a site plan that shows where the house is located on the property. You also need measured beams to accommodate the roof loads in your area. Your home builder can always help you with this. A septic design may be required if your lot is not served by a sewer system. Today, many areas are required to meet specific energy codes. This usually involves filling out a simple form that provides documentation that your home plans are compatible.
In some areas, a second step is required to ensure your home plans meet local codes. Some North American regions have more stringent engineering requirements. Examples of this would be, but not limited to, areas prone to earthquakes on the California and Pacific coasts, hurricanes on the Florida, Gulf and Carolina coasts. Portions of New York, New Jersey, Nevada, and Illinois must be reviewed by a local professional. If you are building in these areas, you must hire a state licensed civil engineer to review the design and provide any additional drawings and calculations to your building department. If you’re not sure, building departments usually have a supply that will give you a list of all the things they need to bring and get a building permit.
Even stock plans don’t have a professional stamp on them. If your building department requires one, they will only accept a stamp from a licensed professional in the state you want to build. In this case, you will need to take your house plans to a local engineer or architect for review and approval. Additionally, plans used to build homes in Nevada must be drawn by a licensed Nevada architect.
