In some regions, you need to take a second step to make sure your home plans meet local regulations. Some parts of North America have very strict technical requirements. New York, New Jersey, Nevada and parts of Illinois require inspection by local experts. If you’re unsure, the building authority usually has a brochure listing all the items they need to submit to get planning permission.
Stock plans also do not have a professional stamp attached. If your building department requires it, they will only accept grades from licensed professionals in the state where you plan to build.
