For those who like living in a compact space but don’t want to be too cramped, the 30-foot custom homes designed by Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses in Colorado may be of interest. Designed for a family of three, it has more space and the comforts of home than a small trailer apartment, including a bath and shower, dishwasher and seating for six.
The custom-built 30-foot tiny house sits on a 9.1-meter (30-foot) long trailer and can be towed by an appropriately sized car or truck. It has 18 square meters (197 square feet) of usable floor space on the main floor and about 9.2 square meters (100 square feet) of loft space – not exactly spectacular, but more spacious than, say, a Salsa. Box.
Built partly from reclaimed wood, the house has many windows and a relatively spacious living area with a fold-out table, work bench, wood stove and seating for six. Its two lofts are suitable for sleeping areas and one is accessed by a staircase which includes integrated storage. At the back of the house is a spacious children’s bedroom complete with a Murphy bed.

The custom 30-foot home’s kitchen area is perfectly suited for a small home, with amenities including a full-size stove, large refrigerator, washer/dryer, plenty of storage, and even a small dishwasher. The bathroom has a built-in toilet, sink, small tub and shower.
Greg Parham of Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses told Gizmag that while the custom 30-foot home was connected to the grid, the owner retrofitted the custom-built 30-foot home with a solar system and the home can now go off the grid. It will cost about $63,000 to build, and Perham plans to unveil plans for the home soon.

The 30′ Master-on-Main design is perfect for those who don’t like climbing stairs or stairs to get to bed. Modern walk-in bathrooms allow guests to use the bathroom without entering the bedroom.

Our largest house is 28 feet wide and has a total length of 36 feet. This design has it all. Private master suite, guest loft, full size bath and spacious living room. Designed by a single mother with long-term living in mind, this fully functional home has two en-suite bedrooms, all standard amenities and creative storage space. I can personally attest to the comfort that a tiny house can bring to a family that wants to downsize but still want to provide their children with a “space of their own”. After designing and building this tiny house, my teenage daughter and I lived comfortably in it for three years. She stayed with her friends, our friends and family came to visit and spend the night, and eventually my partner and his son lived with us part time or full time while we renovated the new upstairs. The most common feeling I hear when people visit my tiny house is that it feels bigger than they imagined and they can easily see themselves living in it. While I designed this place just for myself and my daughter, the house can accommodate five to six people and is ideal for families, couples and individuals who want to use it as a full-time, vacation home. Shala’s two-bedroom tiny house on wheels offers about 350 square feet of usable space. Unique design features include two enclosed private bedrooms with stairs, bedside storage and locking doors. Each bedroom can accommodate up to a large mattress and features wardrobes, additional storage areas and multiple windows. Wall fans and windows above the doors help circulate air into the bedroom from below.

Bathroom/shower, toilet, sink and laundry area with washer and dryer (with vent). The kitchen has an apartment-sized pantry, dishwasher, microwave and plenty of storage space. There’s a built-in fridge and pull-out pantry on the stairs, and additional storage baskets slide between the loft beams.
