If you’re looking for a soft neutral that works with certain decor, you’ll want to add Edgecombe Gray to your list of possibilities. It has a light gray color and looks comfortable when facing the south or west side of the room, while the north and east face the cold room.

In this article, I will show you how natural light affects interior colors (in the Northern Hemisphere, anyway). I have also included some tips for painting neutral colors in a beautiful room. But before getting into the specifics, let’s look at some important points when painting the interior.

Rooms with north facing windows are cool and light. Even with lots of windows and lots of sunlight, the light color is still on the cool side. This means that the coldest colors (blue, gray, green, and some shades of white) can feel cold in the northern room. A warm color or even warm neutral paint against the north can create this cool effect.

Edgecombe Gray HC-173 is a nice creamy gray for homeowners who want more gray without feeling too cool.
