When it comes to cream colors, there are few problems like Sherwin Williams Antique White. The thing is, it’s a wall color, it’s beautiful, but it’s usually used on kitchen cabinets or trim, and that’s where the problem starts.

However, antique white is one of the reasons why the LRV cabinet color is not good. The “average” LRV for cabinet finishes and paint is 82-94. With LRV 72, you’re looking at a color that leaves the off-white range and enters the “white” range, so it has a lower bone density than white colors or off-white. . here

Ahhh, there it is – the golden question (literally). Because of Antique White’s intense gold color and lower than average LRV (compared to trim/cabinet), Antique White has a softer appearance. But, if you follow a few rules, you should be fine!

Cooler colors “cover” white and can increase its warmth/yellowness, making it appear stronger. Cool colors are gray (and some of its tones), blue, green and purple. It also includes gray, although it is considered a warm color.
Another helpful tip is to look for colors with an LRV of around 50 or less. Very few light colors work (except cream/cream that looks like antique white). Does the LRV need an upgrade? Read it.

Everything, I only consider the beige range because I think cool tones work much better with antique white, it’s very strong, the combination is different – but it’s just not for me (not always. ..)
If you want to tone down the yellowness of your white or antique trim, you can use a darker brown, but it doesn’t make it thinner, it just reduces the yellowness.
