“Choosing a shade for your look can be difficult, so people tend to go for neutrals. But if you want to be bold like yellow, you have to experiment a lot,” she said. “See how it looks when you make a large sample and how it changes in the light at different times of the day.”
“For a sweet home on the beach, I think something yellow would be really beautiful. It can be very quiet, it doesn’t have to be bright. It’s a good alternative to white.”

“I saw a beautiful green house – it’s a modern house, you don’t want to see a lot of colorful modern houses – it was beautiful, it’s in the countryside.”
Another way to add your favorite colors to the look is to paint the door or mailbox in your desired shade.
What color do you choose; Whether it’s your front door or a general wall color, Carlene recommends using Taubmans’ Colorsmith app to help you choose the right color.
How does it work? Once you’ve downloaded the app, you can create your own color by taking a picture of what you see. The leaves of your child’s favorite indoor plant may be dark green or dark red. Colorsmith then creates the color and you can order a sample directly to your door. Next, it’s time to start painting the keys and experimenting with colors in your home.

“Basically, it gives you a world of possibilities,” Carlene said. “You can look in a magazine or a sketch and find the color you want using the app. With it, you can quickly get inspiration for a color instead of quickly finding it in a store.”
Carlene understands the importance of considering your location and surroundings when choosing colors for your home.
“I really avoid white houses in the countryside, it’s not practical,” he said. “Aesthetically, too, when you’re surrounded by trees, they have to be bold. It’s best to paint the face really dark so that the trees and nature speak. You see [the building] and disappear and it’s green.”
“In general, I find that darker colors work better in rural areas, and often lighter colors work better on beaches and some urban areas,” Carlene said.

“I think a few years ago people were leaning towards grays and blues. Now I’d say I’m leaning more towards warm whites and grays with a bit of green.
Depending on the architectural style of the home, you can choose from more than one color. Although this is probably less than necessary for a modern home, decorative details, balconies etc. are important in most ancient houses.
However, when it comes to the painting technique, which she calls “occlusive color,” Carlene doesn’t discriminate—she works on both modern and old homes.
Exterior House Colors To Convince You To Paint Yours
“In most modern homes, I like to use color,” Carlene continues.
Classically inspired homes feature ornate railings and intricate detailing, and it’s good to highlight those unique details with a contrasting color. “
To define the decoration, you can choose something very impressive or you can choose the same color as the family, but simple and dark colors.
Bear in mind that if this is a heritage site it may actually be restricted to certain colors as per council regulations. Blue and gray have become popular colors in the last decade. Tips For Choosing Exterior Paint Colors
A new trend is to paint the house with two colors, which are usually not found in the same color scheme as the outside. For example, try gray with turquoise accents, or warm green with a cool green undertone.
Mix red, blue and yellow with the colors of your home. Try deep blues and sunny yellows.
Warm up the exterior color of your home with wood that goes well with neutral and dark colors. Try wooden shaker sides, plywood or a wooden garage door.
Prepare your home for an exterior paint update. Light yellow, but mustard yellow is popular. Mustard shades go well with brown and white home colors. Then try Behr’s Classic Gold (PPU6-17).
Colour Schemes To Consider For Your Heritage Home
Instead of using black exterior paint on the stone surface of your home. Try bright colors that go well with different home styles. Then use a dark color for your door.
Greens, especially traditional colors and olives, are well suited to artisan homes. Despite its rich color, green lets the design of the house shine. Then try Renwick Olive (SW 2815) by Sherwin-Williams.
As an exterior color, white never goes out of fashion. The classic look can be updated with a fixed door and colorful decorations.
Ocean blues, teals and aquas are a nice update to yesterday’s pale blues. Get ready to paint the exterior of your home and try combining beachy watercolor with ivory.

Standard exterior colors such as tan and black have been updated. Whether your home is traditional Victorian, Colonial or Craftsman, gray or warm colors look beautiful. Try something like Sherwin-Williams’ Colonial Revival Stone (SW 2827). The classic black and white pair goes well with a deeply painted door or wood stain.
Simple warm blues, yellows and blues can make your home look stunning. The use of warm colors in color themes with simple white decorations brings the house closer to the corner to stand out from its surroundings. Once you’ve chosen a base color, it’s easy to create several different warm colors in the same family. You just need to put a neutral color to make it hot or cold, light or dark. This is called color and tone. Color lightens a color by adding white. Darken the color by adding black to the shadow. Check out these resources for choosing paint colors.

The monochrome colors of the wheel are one basic color (hue) but have different values - light (hue) or dark (hue). A great and bold way to use the monochromatic paint trend is to paint your home black. While contrasts and variations in color are common, monochromaticity – especially choosing a dark or dark black or gray – really enhances the architectural features and architecture of the home. Be careful when choosing exterior paint colors at the store, as they may appear lighter than the exterior paint.
