That said, you really can’t go wrong with Sherwin Williams or Ben Moore. In terms of quality of pure paint, they are almost equal. Accordingly, they carry bad and good and premium polishes with different prices.
Bottom line, Benjamin Moore or Sherwin paints are in a league of their own. Especially compared to Behr, Valspar or PPG paint.

But Benjamin Moore has a major weakness compared to Sherwin-Williams paint. Before we jump into that, let’s talk about the price difference between Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams paint.
Benjamin Moore is more expensive than Sherwin Williams House Paint when comparing similar products. As mentioned, both companies have different interior and exterior color lines such as Cashmere, Emerald or Period. Overall, the average gallon of paint at Sherwin Williams is $53 compared to $57 at Benjamin Moore.
Sherwin-Williams also carries Superpaint, which experts consider the best value for any paint. As a point of reference, Superpaint sells to consumers for about $48 per gallon. That’s about $30 less than Sherwin’s high-end Emerald line.
Generally, high-quality paint is always expensive, but to a degree. Personally, I’m not a big fan of ultra-premium lacquers like Sherwin’s Emerald or Benjamin Moore’s Aura. Both of these high quality paint lines cost more at around $70 per gallon.

The main difference is that the Regal option offers better protection and size than the Ben. This is due to the high content of solids in the composition of the paint. Ben’s dry time is also two hours compared to Regal’s one hour.
Furthermore, the Regal Select has more finishes than the Ben. Furthermore, the Ben only comes in flat, shell and semi-gloss finishes, while the Regal features all three as well as matte and pearl finishes.
