It looks very full and would probably be better with a little less “stuff”… but I like all my stuff. Many people look at my Filofax and say, “How can you see anything?!” But it makes sense to me. What is the most important thing!

Several months ago I had a terrible problem with one of my eyes – the doctor couldn’t tell me what was wrong, but he advised me to only wear my glasses for two weeks. It didn’t make me happy… Fortunately, the broken lens and drops he prescribed fixed me up nicely.
But I was determined not to forget to change my contacts regularly so I wouldn’t have any problems that might come with wearing them!
It’s stuck on my calendar every four weeks, helping me remember to change lenses on time!
Ok… so I know some of you are going to almost squeal at the majesty of the pictures in this post. Sorry about that… 🙂 Seriously, I got this Malden because I finally saw one, and I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. Without further ado… here it is!

Of course, these photos were taken in October when I had all my Halloween stuff in there. It is now set for November, which you can see in another post here.
Stickers, washi, notes… I love all the pockets and I especially love the long pocket with a zipper on top – so handy for those long pieces.
Panel Side – When I’m trying to write, the long pointed strap bothers me, but it’s nice that it’s long enough to stuff things in there.
This is my clear fly sheet (Halloween again!) and it looks great with Malden Brown.

On the back I have a clear page where I attached one of my pen holders. It stands so far that the pen sits outside all my pages.
I think this is my favorite feature of the Malden – the two back pockets. I use vertical for glitter dots that fit perfectly…
So here she is, in all her glory! I absolutely love it and it was a great color and perfect for fall.
I thought I’d share some ways to decorate my Filofax for the holidays, and since today is Halloween I’m sharing my decorations for it!

First, I have a cue card with my current favorite seasonal washi. It’s so easy when I make a little list (with some nice pieces of paper you see in the photo!) that I can stick on my clear flyer (picture that in a minute):
How funny! I especially like football trophies and candy. Then, next to these pockets is my panel. I like to change the paper depending on the binder I’m using and what the weather is like. This black glitter paper I found on Pinterest is perfect for this Halloween subway art! I “laminated” (using packing tape!) and glued with Elmer.

Last, but certainly not least, my bright spots. I use them for dates, and wouldn’t you know it – they have a “Halloween” themed package! I love colors and it’s so nice not to use pastels in October… 🙂
There are now all kinds of clips for lovers. And Filofax users! Although I can’t say I use them often, I wanted to make my own out of a pile of paper clips and ribbon I had on hand. I know I’m not the first to try this, but here are my versions and I thought you might like to see them!
Here’s the original ribbon clip I made in my pattern – to see how they made the ribbon stand up beautifully!
I found large scraps of paper in my stash (I think some of them found their way to my desk with Mr. W’s stuff) and could immediately see what I wanted to do!

And did you notice that the washi is no longer green at the top?! It means I’m home and I’m not far away anymore. happiness 🙂

I was terrible at paying stuff on time. I mean terrible. When I got married, the wonderful Mr. W taught me how to stay clean and pay the bills. And as I got more comfortable with keeping my whole brain in my Filofax, I knew I needed to find the right system in front of me when I opened it every day and saw what needed to be done. So without further ado I will describe what works for me. Hope this helps someone else keep track of bills!
First, I need a way to remind myself. So I designed a bill of tags that I laminated (I used packing tape and then cut around it) Here is the bill tag:

I left room to the left of the label to add the date of the month and the name of the bill. I used a separate small adhesive label (which I cut to size) and put it in a piece of paper, so if I need to change it for another bill, I have that option.
It is ready now and to see when I will remove it on the 10th of next month, and then I will remove it and bring it forward next month.
The last thing I do is check that bill from my chart that I put in my son’s “Bills” section – it’s colorful and looks like a lot, but it works for me. I can see the bills paid for each month at a glance:
And that’s it! The bills get paid, our lights stay on, etc., and I feel organized and in charge in a nice and fun way.

In fact, I would say that my hopes, dreams and ambitions for reading far exceed the time I spend reading. What a shame indeed… What happened to not being an adult and not acting responsibly – instead, you chose to lose yourself in a big story for the day?!… lol
But, I have a book list. Well, the “I hope to read this someday” list and it’s in my Filofax. All in one colorful and glorious rainbow:
And I realized that it’s hard to feel motivated to start a new book without looking at the cover. I know, I know – don’t judge a book by its cover – but that’s not on my mind. The first time I saw the cover image, I thought why I wanted to read the book. This should include thinking in color or being a visually oriented person. Anyway, I came up with this solution to find my other reading buddy:
All of these book covers are from my list, cut to fit on this page. And they’re all removable because I have a moleskin “book journal” where I log things I’ve read and put stickers from the cover so I remember. And it looks neat. 🙂
