It’s about time I updated the best selling colors list and I’m happy to finally update the color list today!
Last year, Benjamin Moore stopped updating the best selling colors section of their website, which was really disappointing. However, they finally updated it last week (probably for the new year) and it’s always interesting to see what Benjamin Moore’s best selling and popular colors are.
While I’m not one to pick a polish color just because it’s popular or trendy, I always follow the colors that sell best because a polish color has to look good and be reliable in order to sell the remaining hundreds of Benjamin Moore colors. It’s also one of the tools I use to find new colors to put on my radar for my clients and for the blog.
Most Popular Benjamin Moore Paint Colors
Benjamin Moore truly has some of the best blues of any paint company. Smoke and Hale Navy are two star colors that have been on the best selling color list for years because they are unique and always look great in different lighting situations.
Benjamin Moore Smoke is a very pale blue that airs out the space. We used Smoke on a recent customer project in the boys room and it looks amazing.
Van Courtland Blue has also been a popular blue over the years and I especially love it on the cabinets! In fact, Stephanie Gamble Interiors recently painted these cabinets in the laundry room Van Courtland Blue and it’s a great color in this space.
I would venture to guess that Benjamin Moore’s most popular blue is Hale Navy. Hale Navy is the perfect dark navy and is very popular with designers, builders and homeowners as it always looks great! In my opinion, nothing even comes close to the Hale Navy.
My Top 10 Benjamin Moore Grays
I’m not surprised that Benjamin Moore’s grays are the best sellers, as they are the best and most trusted shades of Benjamin Moore’s grays. Collingwood is a new color to me, but I fell in love with it a few months ago while visiting this modern French house during the Salt Lake City Home Parade.
Collingwood is just warmer than the traditional balanced grey. No yellow, just a little heat. Personally, I really like it, but don’t forget that this house is flooded with natural light!
Stonington has been extremely popular over the past two years, but I think this is the first time I’ve seen it on the bestseller list. Stonington is a deeper (more pigmented) warm gray than Gray Owl. However, it is a dull gray and can be very cool in certain lighting situations.
Not surprisingly, we see the gray owl and gray crested gray on this list. These are two stellar warm grays that have continued to be best sellers over the years because they are great colors and reliable.
No Fail Neutral Paint Colors From Benjamin Moore
Edgecomb Gray is a very light warm gray that I love and use a lot. In fact, last year I featured Edgecomb Gray in the color spotlight and shared several rooms painted in this rich color.
Gray Owl is probably the most popular warm gray for Benjamin Moore right now. If it’s not #1, I’m sure it’s close to #2.
Many of Benjamin Moore’s most popular greens are actually green/blue/grey, which doesn’t surprise me. Along with white and gray, these beautiful shades of green/blue/grey are the biggest color trends today. I would venture to guess that Woodlawn Blue (which Benjamin Moore actually classifies as a green) is Benjamin Moore’s most popular green because I see it used so often by designers, builders, and home owners. It’s also one of my favorite colors!
Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue is another very popular green/blue/grey since I’ve been blogging! Another beautiful color.
Benjamin Moore 2020 Color Trends
Coincidentally, I noticed in the 2018 color manufacturers forecast that green is a big color trend predicted for 2018. I think we will move more towards muted greens like very soft blues but still with a touch of blue/grey undertones .
By the way, I was surprised to see that Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray was not listed because it had been there for years. It is also one of the most popular and beautiful vegetables!
