Paint Colors For Laundry Rooms – Most people don’t think much about the laundry they choose for their closets. After all, it’s just a laundromat, right?
Some laundromats have large windows and some don’t like mine. Some are very wide, others smaller. Some are on the main floor of the house, while others are in the basement. Regardless of the size and location, the laundry room should be a place where you want to spend time, so that you are not afraid to leave.
Paint Colors For Laundry Rooms
From a design perspective, the laundry room is a place where I want to have fun. When I do laundry, I want to feel like I’m in my favorite place.
Paint Colors In Our Home
Since the cabinets take up a small part of the laundry room, I felt this was a very important part of the design. That’s why I thought a little about the color of the cabinets.
Here are some cabinet color options that will make any laundry room fun, beautiful and inviting.
When we met Pigeon at Farrow and Ball, I knew it was my laundry color. It met all my requirements. I’ve read that it’s gray with blue undertones, but it seems like a very understated green to me. But it still adds the right amount of color.
Our laundry room doesn’t have a window, so I knew we had to go into that room easily. Although I still like to see lighter shades for most cabinets. It seems to give the room a much needed sense of calm. We went more simple with our walls and tables, which added some contrast to the cabinets.

Affordable beige is an oldie but a goodie from Sherwin Williams. It’s been years, but it’s still a neutral color that looks great! With its many shades, beige is perfect for laundry room cabinets. Beige is one of the most beautiful, timeless and eternal colors. It has the beauty of neutrality, but is unique and a little different from the usual white cabinet. It adds personality without being over the top.
Another of our favorite linen colors is Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams. Sea salt is a very soothing color, it’s sure to be fun but will still add a bit of warmth. It’s a cool color, but definitely has some blue-gray warm undertones. This color will hold your space and give you a beachy, clean look.
Benjamin Moore Smoke is one of those colors that you either love it or hate it. It’s definitely a bit bolder in some ways, but as a lighter color it still has a soothing and calming effect. It is a more subtle, sophisticated gray that adds to the contemporary feel. It looks good in combination with taupe and beige colors.
So, I really like our new laundry room, but if I do another design soon, I’m going to use Benjamin Moore Revere Petra for the cabinet color. It’s the perfect soft gray neutral if you ask me. Revere Pewter looks great paired with warm tones, greens and some brass accents. This laundry room designed by Studio McGee showcases this cabinet color perfectly.
Best Paint Colors For Your Laundry Room
If you’re looking to use a very versatile white for your laundry, Benjamin Moore’s Vanilla Milkshake might be the one for you. It’s a beautiful shade of white with just enough shades of gray and beige for warmth. Vanilla Milkshake would be a great cabinet color for a small, windowless laundry room. Adding some black handles or light fixtures looks great and adds a great contrast to this color. We love white space as much as the next designer, but we never miss an opportunity to add an unexpected pop of color when we can! The laundry room is one of our favorite places to use a new color. These are usually smaller spaces and can benefit from bold design choices to add character and beauty. Plus, a good color palette makes washing more fun! When choosing a paint color, we always want to consider the overall design aesthetic of the rest of the house. The best paint colors for laundry rooms will appeal to the same aesthetic that sets them apart from other areas in your home. If the rest of your home is full of warm neutrals, try a lighter putty or a warm grey-brown shade. For pretty colors, we’re currently loving pale greens and shades of lavender. If you’re looking for a more classic take on laundry room design, consider a cool shade of charcoal like we used in our Marigold project. We also love the light gray color scheme that matches the design of the upstairs powder room.

Let’s face it, nobody looks forward to laundry day. While we all love the smell of fresh laundry and the sight of a closet full of perfectly folded sheets, the actual task of handling dirty laundry baskets can be difficult. Also, even if the rest of our home is well decorated, chances are you are neglecting the decor in your laundry room. But this city doesn’t have to be all work and fun.

If you’re looking for a classic shade for your laundry room, a clean gray like Repose Gray is an ideal choice, says Ashley Moore of Moore House Interiors. She says this color creates a “classic look for years to come,” making it a great option for updating a master laundry room.
On the other hand, the laundry room is also a great place to experiment with color, says Moore. “Laundries are their own space, so don’t feel like you have to design your laundry room like the rest of the house,” she says. “You can give them your own unique design and ‘personality’ with fun colors.”

While bright colors are fun for a touch of the unexpected, Lisa’s favorite for the laundry room is a simple neutral like classic gray. But since bright colors can be distracting in the laundry, Lissack says the focus should be on color durability. “Make sure you choose a color and gloss that’s water- and stain-resistant,” she says. “Eggshell can be cleaned, but it’s not super shiny.”
Rosemary Capellano of Dlux Design & Co. loves Sherwin-Williams Sergeant. “Laundromats are a great place to try something a little different,” she says. “The green makes the space soft, inviting, and pairs beautifully with the brass faucets and cabinet hardware.”

Sometimes the best choice is the simplest. Carly Roger absolutely loves Dove White from Citizen & Co. This neutral white is soft enough to pair well with almost any paired shade, but offers enough depth and a hint of warmth to work on its own.
While a crisp white shade offers a clean look, we like shades of white with a bit of warmth to keep the space from feeling cramped.
