Paint For Stucco Sherwin Williams – We wanted to share our all-time favorite exterior colors because it seems to be one of the hardest decisions for our customers. The color of your home is very personal and long-lasting, and if possible, it helps to see it first in another home.
High contrast white and black houses have been trending for the past year, here are some of our favorite whites! Sherwin Williams Alabaster is a great warm white to use. We used it on both stucco and columns for this house, and as you can see, as stucco, it’s warmer than the off-white columns. Always get a swatch of the hat color first, as the construction of the hat will change the color slightly.

We love this high contrast home below with a combination of black and white to highlight the architectural details on the front of the home.

No need to reinvent the wheel below, we have some of our favorite whites 😉 Besides these, I also love BM Decorators White.
Blues are still a favorite, especially in Craftsman and Cape Cod style homes. This craftsman home is shown in St. George 2018 for American Heritage Homes.
After years of people looking to add heat to their homes with “barbecues,” we’re seeing a return to neutral. Here are some of our favorite exterior and interior colors, but I often use my paint supplier’s trick to tone them down by at least 25-50%. This will ensure that the house is not brown, but a nice light color with a modern but warm tone.
Our 2017 Parade of Homes for American Heritage Homes had the perfect neutral colors to match the warmth of the stone and brick. So how do you choose the right white exterior paint color for your home? With so many whites to choose from, the decision can be overwhelming.
Sherwin Williams Front Door Colors
I don’t think you want to use too bright white, especially on the outside of your home. If you do this, your house will be blind to see in full sunlight.
Going with a white or light creamy white paint color is the way to go. It does not glare and gives your home a softer look.
As you know, we are in the building process, and now we are trying to decide on a general color scheme for the exterior. It is a very difficult decision, but one that we must make. Since most of the house is brick painted white, it all depends on the shade of white we choose!
Before using a gallon of paint, it’s important to choose a few paint colors first. You can do it the old-fashioned way, which is time-consuming and messy. Or you can use Samplize to order large paint samples and accurate color reproductions.
Our Review Of Dorian Gray By Sherwin Williams
Despite its name, Sherwin Williams Pure White is not really pure. It has a slight warmth to it, but not to the point where it looks creamy. This is probably the lightest white paint I have ever used on the outside of a house.
Oyster White by Sherwin Williams is a very warm white. You can almost call it a very light greige. If you plan to add wood accents to your exterior, it complements it well.
Like Pure White, don’t let the name fool you. Benjamin Moore Simply White – warm white. It has a light yellow color and on a side note it was Benjamin Moore’s color of the year 2016.
Benjamin Moore White Dove is a very soft white with warm gray tones. It has just the right amount of “white” if you don’t want too much cream on the outside of your home. White dove is very popular and seems to be the main color for many designers.

Update: We just did a renovation and decided to use White Dove on the exterior. We were very happy with how it turned out. I think this could be the perfect off-white exterior paint color.
If you’re looking for a white exterior paint color that isn’t too warm or creamy, Sherwin Williams Snowbound is a great choice. It only has a neutral gray color. It’s probably a bit warmer than Pure White, but nowhere near the warmth of Oyster White or Alabaster.
We actually used Snowbound on the outside of a house we flipped a few years ago. I remember liking how soft it looked.
Benjamin Moore China White is another white with a warm gray tone. I’ve heard some say it looks dirty, but I think they’re mostly talking about when it’s used indoors. For exteriors where you don’t want bright white, I think it looks great.

If you are looking for a white with a creamy yellow tone, White Duck by Sherwin Williams. It’s definitely a great blend of greige and cream. Here you can see it in this beautiful home by Garden Gate Homes.
Update: We used Sherwin Williams White Duck on the exterior of our house and couldn’t be happier with our choice! In full sunlight it looks very soft and doesn’t look too creamy. But on a cloudy or rainy day, the color cream comes out. Below is a picture of the outside of our house.
A natural choice is another neutral white that is not too yellow or too gray. Compared to white duck, it looks more on the cream side. Here’s an example of Dixon Kirby Home’s natural choice for a home. I shared some inside and out stories about our home on Instagram the other day! One of the frequently asked questions is what color the paint was. I didn’t do much research when it came to our paint choices. Luckily it was interior paint of the model home and I loved it when I saw it. This is true white. For example, white white white. It is not actually yellow, blue or green in color. It’s a true dry white.
This is Sherwin Williams Pure White (7005). After deciding on this color for our interior and knowing we wanted a farmhouse look on the exterior, I was excited to hear that our builder suggested this color for the exterior. For the garage doors and front doors, Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black was also used. I am also seriously in love with this dark color. We are considering using it on our dark decks at home, so stay tuned! Studio McGee also recommends Tricorn Black and I love their style.
We Painted Our House
These photos were taken at sunset, so the siding has a slight orange tint next to the board and flap. It really is a beautiful white! Sherwin Williams Pure White has very little ink. The color data is R – 237, G – 236 and B – 230. The hex value is #edece6 and the LRV is 84. Pure white can tend to pick up surrounding colors which is great! So it can almost change with your decoration.
What is the LRV you ask? LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value, which measures the amount of visible and useful light reflected from the paint surface. The scale is 0 to 100, with blacks being 0 and pure whites being 100 (reflecting ALL light).
LRV helps with color selection and knows how light or dark the color looks. Still, Pure White is an 84, which is very high.
We painted our entire interior, as well as our trim and doors, pure white. Since we are using a different glow, this works fine. If you want true white, this is a great interior color. White is also best for trim, cabinets and decks.
Can You Paint Stucco?
Another white we love and used in our previous home is Sherwin Williams Snowbound. This is another beautiful dry white. We used it as a background for the floral wall decoration in Madison’s old bedroom. I love the wood beams on our front porch and can’t wait to decorate them for fall and the holidays!
I can’t believe it either, we got here with an almost white door. We really need black in our white house! It is the perfect color for your door. I’ve also seen it used on cabinets and it looks great there too.
Along the way we want to add some shutters and window boxes to our house. We will also paint this triangle black. I think something more is needed!
I thought I’d share a few other homes that use Pure White
