Pole Barn 30 X 50 – Congratulations to all! I am excited to share some photos of the new garage that has been completed.
We bought our house a year ago and it used to have a garage that had fallen into disrepair. Needless to say, I immediately started planning to tear it down and replace it with a bigger car.
Pole Barn 30 X 50
After much research (thanks GJ), I decided on a pole barn 30 x 50 x 12. I started calling around and was frustrated with the long wait times that most pole builders gave. So, instead, I built a garage out of wood that was paid for by the city builder. After seeing the speech, I quickly turned to the Pole Barn.

In April of this year, I signed with an Amish home builder and was very happy with their customer service. I immediately hired an excavation company to tear down the old garage and pave the 40 x 60 driveway.
Come May, the digger went to work and soon, the old parking lot was gone and a new road was in place.
I don’t have a good picture of the road, but it took 7 trucks full of shale to level it. I really liked his work.
Fast forward to last Monday, and the builder finally broke ground on the house. The first day they have many posts on the bottom.
Metal Farm Buildings & Pole Barns
Four days, and metal siding has begun. We ended up using earth colored siding and metal roof/trim/wainscoting. They also installed windows and doors today.
It rained last Friday, so they canceled that day. This gave me time to drill a 3″ hole under the house in anticipation of power coming from the house. I also hammered down a ground rod and ran a bare 4 AWG wire to the ground to be done. in the future.
The first 6 days in the morning they poured something. That was the first time I had because I didn’t see them lay the mesh/re-bar attachment before pouring the thing. I wasn’t home when they actually dropped it, but it looks like they didn’t have time to lay the net. I have very little knowledge of concrete and thought mesh support was a ‘system’ so I didn’t ask the builder about it. Either way, they use 3500 PSI concrete and line mix, so only time will tell how it holds up. It’s too late to worry about that now.
It now sits like this, they came back today (day 7) and cut the control joint and sprayed sealer on the computer. They also finished the fascia and other trim.
X 50 Pole Barn Plan
Only a garage door (ours is a garage door, size 10×8) and a goal/sprinkler should do. Both projects have been postponed so I don’t know when they will be completed.
Overall – so far, I’m happy with their progress and the quality of their work. I have a lot to learn with this herb. I’m planning to do a little insulation (tips/tricks/tips?) and cover the interior walls and roof with metal.
Finally, electricity will be used, and I will have channels running on the surface and everywhere. I’m also planning a small wood stove in one corner (next to the work area in the future), so I need to figure out the best chimney design for this type of house.
Once everything is done, I’ll take some good pictures and clean up a few things on the outside. I plan to rent a machine and do the finishing touches on the side of the house.

I’m going to have a lot of questions over the next few months, so I hope you like it and let me know!
It’s good that I like you. However, since the picture is missing and most of us Neanderthals here can’t read, well….

Hopefully the garage door will go in tomorrow. I have a bird trying to make a home there.

Again try to understand the function of insurance. I’m a little confused as to whether a vapor barrier is necessary or useful to seal every inch of the surface before sealing. I’ll probably have to glue it to the metal panel as it mounts to the posts and the batt of the hood to finish it. I don’t know if I should do a vapor barrier before going up the stud wall.
Turn it off, install the insulation, install a vapor barrier over the insulation, and install your interior paneling or drywall.

I think I can be your neighbor if 5 or 6 miles. I live below Piketown. I built a 24 x 36 log cabin in 2002. Like you, they built a shell. Before they had computers, I put pex pipes in the ground for heat.

I put 1.5 inch rigid foam board against all the exterior walls. studs attached to the hanging fiberglass batt. The hoods are 24in center and I put the highest r bat out there. I finished it with scrap metal that I collected. The interior is white.
A small window type heater has 11000 BTU, that’s 99 outside and 72 inside. In the winter, I keep the thermostat at 45. If I know I will be working in the garage, I will turn them up to 55 the night before. It works well. I’m excited to put foam on the wall. And as much as I can between the covers.

Thanks for the advice! What type of vapor barrier did you use? If there’s any difference, my house has a downspout and a swept soffit.

I covered my tree house with insulation, just like Morton did. Take a look at what I build before you spend money on other systems.
Fiberglass has a vapor barrier. But I bought a roll or 2 of plastic and heat-sealed all the joints on the roof and walls before I put the steel bars. I have a soffit sofa in the front porch. Your picture has the mountains to the north like my area here between Piketown and FIG.
