Red Brick House Siding Colors – You love your red brick house and its timeless look. But when it comes to your siding or trim color, you’re ready for a change. Before you bring home a bunch of paint swatches, there are a few things to consider, like your roof, driveway, mailbox, and the overall style of your home. Fear not – we’ve got some inspiring ideas and pro-tips to help you add the perfect splash of color to your brick home.
Gray is a beautiful neutral that really makes your red brick pop. Complement the red by choosing a gray-blue color instead of a gray with tan undertones.

Blue can be a beautiful choice to combine with your red brick. It has nothing to do with red on the traditional color wheel, but the two colors only work together. When choosing paint colors, try to stick to dark blues rather than royal or sky blues. White trim on a dark blue house with red brick is a beautiful combination.

Green and red go together like holly and berries. There are several shades of green in your siding color that will best complement your brick.
Sage is a gray-green that, you guessed it, looks like the color of dried sage leaves. Light and dark sage shades work well with red brick, and colorful accents can be beautiful accents.
A dark teal instead of light teal will help your bricks stand out, as the warm color of the brick contrasts with its cool color. Black shutters and white trim go well with this teal tone, which has gray tiles on the roof.
Many shades of beige, from darker taupe to lighter tan, work well with red brick because they all have warm undertones. Black blinds can sharpen the look and really make your windows pop.
The Best Front Door Colors For Brick Houses
Black and white, while sometimes harsh against the red brick exterior, can also give a sense of drama. Black siding can give your home a very modern look, while white siding with red brick harkens back to the colonial era in American history.
When considering a color to go with your red brick, there are other design elements to consider before choosing.
The style of your home plays a big role in determining what color siding looks best. Do you have a colonial style home? White siding is your best bet. Modern or contemporary? Black complements your design style well. Victorian? Pastel colors are your friend. Be sure to research the architectural style of your home before falling in love with a paint color that may not match.
While it may not be a major consideration, your roof type and color will go a long way in determining what color siding is best for your home. If you want to change the color of the siding but not the roof, you must choose a color that not only complements the brick, but also the roof.
Siding Trends: Mix And Match For A Distinctive Home Exterior
Drains come in different materials and colors. While many people choose white, you can change the color of your gutters depending on the material. If you don’t plan to change the color, you should choose a siding color that matches your gutters.
Is your mailbox metal? brick? Is this a miniature replica of your home? If possible, consider matching the mailbox with the new page color.
While concrete or asphalt can be almost any color, if you have a paver driveway, that’s a different story. You should consider this color when choosing new colors.
If your railings are painted, be sure to consider the color (or color change, if applicable) when looking at your home for a new paint color. Many houses have black metal or wood, but be sure not to overlook this detail.

Retaining walls, such as sidewalks, should be considered in your overall design scheme. It’s an easy detail to forget, but it can affect curb appeal. When choosing a new color for your siding, consider what colors will go well with your retaining walls and bricks.

After reading this article about Gauntlet Grey, I knew it would be a great trim color.
We painted Sherwin Williams’ Gauntlet Gray for the relief, garage doors and runners, then chose Iron Ore for the shutters and front door.
