Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray Vs Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter
Also known as 973 Ice Formations, Revere Pewter is one of Benjamin Moore’s best-selling colors. According to Benjamin Moore, it’s “an iconic neutral that provides a versatile bridge between warm and cool tones.” It shows that it works in many different colors.
Revere Pewter has a light reflectance value of 55.05, making it a mid-tone color. Not too dark, not too light.
It tends to have a cooler neutral tone when painted on walls and looks best in west and south facing rooms. But it’s a beautiful, classic color that’s safe to use anywhere in your home.
Along with a cooler look, coordinating colors for Revere Pewter should also have cool undertones. I studied all of my Benjamin Moore paint swatches in different lighting situations and picked a few colors that worked well with them.
Sherwin Williams Icy: A Complete Color Review
Don’t let the name fool you. The Mt. Rainier Gray is a mix of icy blue and cool gray and blue on a large wall. It’s medium-toned (not too light, not too dark) and would be beautiful in any room. LRV 59.48
Slightly cooler than Mt. Rainier Grey, Feather Gray is also a mid-tone color. As you can see in the picture below, it looks great on the sofa which is a darker version of Revere Pewter.
Province Blue is a medium green with a gray undertone that keeps it on the cool side of the spectrum. This is a great complementary color or accent to Revere Pewter. The best places to use it are the bathroom, laundry room, accent piece of furniture, or even closets, as seen below.
Peace is a lighter blue with a combination of sage and gray. And it’s a great complementary color to Revere Pewter, either as an accent wall or in an adjoining room. It has a cool undertone and the same depth of color as Revere Pewter. You can use this color in the bedroom, bathroom, laundry room or office.

Edgecomb Gray is the next shade lighter than Revere Pewter in Benjamin Moore’s color palette. Also known as 972 Alaskan Skies and OC-15 Baby Fawn, this is one of the best selling neutrals every year. It can be the color of the whole house because it is so versatile.
Also known as Nature’s Essentials 1521, Natural Cream is about half a shade lighter than Revere Pewter. According to Benjamin Moore, it’s “a light gray color that flatters warm and cool color schemes.” It has a more yellow undertone than Revere Pewter, but when used in an adjacent room it looks like a lighter version.
The lighting in each room is different, most of the time the exact same color looks different in adjacent rooms. This is all.
Seapearl is almost white with cool gray tones. Also known as China White, this has been a popular Benjamin Moore color for decades. It’s lighter than Edgecomb Gray or Natural Cream, so it’s great for a room that doesn’t get a lot of natural light.

Ashley Gray usually has the same tone as Revere Pewter, but is darker. Also known as Waynesboro Taupe 1544 and Shenandoah Taupe AC-36. And it has a slight hint of purple undertones in some lights, like Reverend Pewter.
Slightly darker than Revere Pewter, it’s great for an accent wall or adjoining room. This sophisticated room is painted with pashmina. I love the contrast of the white bedding.
Vapor is a clean, soft white with warm neutral tones. It blends nicely with Revere Pewter and is not as obvious as other whites.
Silver Satin is a classic white with the same faint hint of lavender as Revere Pewter. It can be used as a trim color in Revere Pewter if you want a more subtle contrast than the white shade. This is another of Benjamin Moore’s best-selling colors.

I always recommend swatching any paint before applying it to the walls. You can do this in a number of ways, including painting a saw color swatch on a section of your wall, painting a small foam board that can be moved around the room, or using skin swatches and sticks. .
When swatching paint colors, always look at them at different times of the day because they look different depending on the lighting. If possible, see how they look on a cloudy day, at night, and on a sunny day.

According to Benjamin Moore, Edgecomb Gray is an earthy, organic neutral. If you compare the colors side by side, Edgecomb is warmer and lighter than SW Agreeable Gray and can read beige and gray depending on the lighting.
SW Agreeable Gray is a very popular color choice and is part of the Pottery Barn Fall/Winter 2020 collection. It is a subtle, neutral gray that usually looks warm, but can look cool depending on the wall and the room. Check out the examples below to see how the same color looks in different rooms.
SW Alpaca is a cooler gray. It has a slight dark purple undertone and can look gray in some rooms. Although the color is still light, it is darker than Agreeable Gray and Edgecomb Gray.

Paint Colors For The Whole Home
Colonnade Gray is another great classic gray option. The color is dark enough to contrast with the white trim, and with an LRV of 53, it’s a good option for a light medium. Like Revere Pewter, Colonnade Gray can have a slight green tone.
