20 X 40 Lean To Plans – This step-by-step woodworking project is for a 16 x 40 pavilion roof plan. This is PART 2 of the large pavilion project where I show how to create a sloping structure for the roof and how to connect the page strips. mind. When buying lumber, you must choose the board carefully, make sure it’s straight and free of defects (cuts, knots, twists, rotting). Investing in cedar or other weatherproof wood is a good idea as it will pay off in the long run. Use a level of spirit to pipe and fix things up before inserting galvanized nails, otherwise the design will look asymmetrical. If you have all the necessary materials and tools for the project, you can get the job done in a day.
20 X 40 Lean To Plans
Use 2×6 lumber for the rafters. Mark the cutout of the rafters, then work with the circle. Smooth the edges with sandpaper. Create toes on the beams so you can fit them snugly.
X24 Timber Frame Shed Roof Plan
Fit the rafters to the top of the booth using the information in the picture. It’s important to align the beams properly (every 24 inches in the center), or you won’t be able to tie the shingles. Use the truss braces to lock the beams into place.
Use 3/4″ plywood for the stall roof. Cut the panels to the correct length and place them on top of the stall. Leave no gaps between the panels, then insert 1 5/8″ screw every 8″ along the rafters so they can be securely fixed
Place 1×8 flags on the front and back of the roof. Carefully adjust the edges and insert 2-inch nails to hold them in place.
Fit 1×8 slats on both sides of the stall. Make an angle in the planks before locking them in place with 2-inch nails.

Cover the roof with shingles and then lay asphalt shingles. Also, make sure that you install the drip caps so that the roof can be sealed. Read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
Fill the hole with wood putty and let it dry for a few hours. Smooth the surface with 100-200 grit sandpaper and remove residue with a damp cloth. Use several coats or paints to improve the look of the gazebo. Be sure to check out PART 1 of the project, where I demonstrate how to build the frame of the booth.
