A pole barn is cheaper to build than a traditional house. A traditional new home can cost between $100 and $200 per square foot to build. A barn exterior costs less to build than a traditional house shell, but the cost of site preparation, foundation, utilities and finishing is the same.
It takes 3 to 6 months to build a shelter or post house depending on the size and details of the house. Building a style home out of a kit is faster than starting from scratch.
