Benjamin Moore Stone Harbor Undertones – It’s amazing what color can do. Changing the color of your walls is one of the most cost-effective ways to change the look and feel of a room. Since we have bedrooms on the second floor, we figured why not change the color of the TV room?! I thought the color was too good for the TV room. I need to be warmer, softer. Therefore, on some nights, Mr. Fix-it gave the walls of the TV room a bit of a facelift.
The color was… Farrow and Ball – Pale Powder. It’s a nice, soft, coastal, clean color (we have it in our kitchen and breakfast room) but it didn’t give off that cozy-watching-a-movie feel.
Benjamin Moore Stone Harbor Undertones
Some color experiments went up on the wall. I went back to Benjamin Moore 5 times with 5 different colors. Ugh. Buying these little sample pots is a great way to test your color options because just when you think you have the perfect color it changes in different lights….better to get the right color before buying a gallon of the wrong one !
The 6 Best (slightly Darker) Benjamin Moore Beige & Tan Paint Colors
We decided on Benjamin Moore – Stone Harbor for the walls and Benjamin Moore – Willow for the accent wall.
I forgot to take a picture of the black accent wall, but in those pictures you can see a little…

, I’m not kidding! Modern urban style is characterized by stormy grays, taupes, purples, blues and other colors with subtle shades of gray. Together with these stormy tones we see drops of pastel colors, an old and lively color with an old-fashioned charm.
What are the modern city colors? In general, it is the colors that give the illusion that they “lived in time” and they did not
And while the modern farmhouse look has a lot of other things going on (like textures, wood tones, etc…) for now I’m focusing on some paint color ideas for your walls – real inspiration to get you in the mood!
Gray Paint Colors
For the ultimate green look, look no further than Army Green. Whether it’s for a kitchen island or a wall, Army Green will add just the right amount of color without overpowering the room. I also love the dark, neutral approach of Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze.
Gray Mist is the cousin of the popular Classic Grey. Gray Mist is a warm grey-grey with a soft, almost creamy texture hidden inside.
I love the softness of the Adagio. It’s a good way to get a gray look, with a soft blue base.
Warm colors are making a comeback, making Mystic Gold the perfect choice for a cool and warm look. Even as an accent through accessories such as baskets and pillows, Mystic Gold is a beautiful color to inspire.
Keep It Beautiful Designs: A Little Paint Goes A Long Way
With an EXACT gray look and a soft blue (blue) background, Puritan Gray is a beautiful, calming color for almost any room. It has more green in it than Adagio.
With hints of blue rather than medium gray, Silver Gray is a great way to create a soft and cozy theme for your room. It will be very nice in a warm room south.
Silver Chain is an interesting gray because it can easily take on any of the 3 shades of gray without committing 100% to any of them!
I love this color with its rich blue-grey technique (with hints of green too). Night Gray would make a great wall, vanity color or even for an entire room!
Paint Colors By Zodiac Sign
If you’re looking for beauty, you’ve come to the right place (insert photo of me here…just kidding). These paint color ideas have just the right amount of color to give your room a beautiful modern farmhouse look.
Stone Harbor is a great way to break up the palette with a warm gray base and purple undertones.
White Below is a soft, warm white with a creamy base. Although it is a warmer, more toned cream shade, White Below is for those who prefer a more subtle theme.
Wythe Blue is a medium light brown with a hint of gray to tone it. Hands down, one of my favorite tea colors.
Benjamin Moore Stone Hearth
Revere Pewter is a light deep gray with a green undertone lurking within. Sometimes I like to reduce it by 25% just to lift it up a bit. If you prefer a softer approach, I have a bunch of shades of gray that you can check out here.
You will of course be going out soon to test the colors – stop there! I want you to look at SAMPLIZE. Sampler offers peel and stick paint samples that are CHEAP, EASY and eco-friendly than pots of natural paint. Here are just a few reasons why I recommend samples to my clients…
If you prefer a more modern country look, and not the “white wall style” of the country, these next colors will show you a number of ideas to choose from.
Brick Red is a rich, saturated red with hints of brown so it’s not an “in your face” red. Perfect for accents.
Benjamin Moore Finnie Gray
Lenox Tan is a rich, warm beige that gives a nice warmth, especially in a northern room.
Prescott Green has a nice note of sage, set in the green-gray base (with a hint of blue).
Guilford Green is green for walls. It’s a great way to get involved in green without being overwhelmed.
Now, of course, there are other factors to consider when choosing your best paint colors such as lighting, room size, decor, and personal taste, but these ideas should get you off to a great start!

The warmest neutral shade is HC-80 Bleeker Beige. Although it can be considered a taupey beige, it has hints of gray to create a soft, subtle beige. This goes well with creams and whites, as well as warmer, more traditional colors like reds, olives and burnt oranges. It is also a color that goes well with mahogany furniture or dark wood!
