Its color is necessarily a slightly greenish shade. By comparison, the oyster shell (just above) looks like a pure cool gray color. And if anything, it looks a bit purple in the fan kit – no color options available online. It looks a little green, but it’s a computer monitor.

They showed me a can of paint. The artist pointed to a plain white can. I smelled it and immediately knew it wasn’t Benjamin Moore paint. It looks like her artist used a different brand and the computer matches that. Hmm, no luck with that.

I asked the artist where he got the paints. It was a store I had never heard of, miles away. I asked the store manager about coloring. He was very protective and insisted that there could be no mistake.

“When people paint, mistakes are bound to happen,” I said.
