Exterior Paint Colors For Brick Homes
These Benjamin Moore classics are two of our favorite bricks. In fact, we named Benjamin Moore’s chaparral our outdoor color of the year. With an LRV of 77.95, Seapearl is off white. Just White’s LRV is 91.7, so it’s very bright. (Learn what LRV is and why it’s important, especially with white.) While these complementary colors create a colorful color scheme, their contrasting colors provide subtle contrast. The white paint (shown here in the trim) gives a warm, inviting light and contrasts with the gray underside of the chaparral (shown below).
What Colors Go With An Orange Brick House?
Alabaster by Sherwin Williams is a good choice for brick. This color appeals to a variety of styles, so it’s a great choice to use in a variety of home exteriors. Our designers used alabaster in the brick, trim and siding in the house described above. When going this route, we recommend adding dimension and depth with dark colored accents, like Sharon Williams’ Tricorn Black. Black tricorne was used on the garage doors and front door. Alabaster is not white, and the black tricorn is not white, so it is not a strict combination of the black and white checkerboard style. The color combination of brick and paint is modern and offers low drama.
This combination of earth tones and warm colors gives a sense of harmony to the front of the house. Rather than being used as contrasting points, these colors complement each other. The Olympic Mountains take center stage on the headliner, Sandy Hook Green adorns the underpants and fascia, and simple white accents complete the look.
Brick houses with orange clay tile roofs look very fresh and modern when the bricks are painted beige or off-white. Such a unique roof should be the focus of the exterior design, and red bricks can compete with it. Another of our selection of designer badges is Benjamin Moore’s Grant Badge. In this example, Arabic bronze accents by Sherwin Williams provide depth and complement the contrast between the light beige color and the full color of the ceiling tiles. (Urban Bronze is one of Sherwin-Williams’ top exterior colors for 2021, in large part because of its versatility.) Pro tip: Bronze or bronze gutters look great with clay tile roofs and paint. beige.
#5 // Classico Lime Wash by Romabeau with Iron Mountain by Benjamin Moore and Nature’s Choice and Porpoise by Sharon Williams
Exterior Brick Paint Color Ideas For Your Home
If you are dealing with bricks that have not been painted, you have the opportunity to try lime washing. This charming effect gives a sense of old history to the house, with hints of brick still showing. For the home above, our designer suggested Classico limwash by ROMABIO. Colors with warm tones correspond to warm reflective tones. And this home has many beautiful architectural features that match the color. Here, the designer suggests accent colors in Iron Mountain, Benjamin Moore and Nature’s Choice and Porpoise, both by Sharon Williams.
Not that you need our approval, but as you can see from our tips so far, we always recommend combining the colors of Sharon Williams and Benjamin Moore in one design! When painted over properly prepared brick, both of these features work well. Seapearl looks great on bricks because the front bricks look white, and the cracks between the bricks look grey, giving the ball a dimension. In this home, painting the entire brick-free space in Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams and trim and accents in Onyx by Benjamin Moore provides a rich, deep contrast and brings out the cypress green hue.
If you’re keeping your natural gray hair, a gray trim can give it a polished look. This is one of the best brick and paint colors in our book. In fact, most bricks naturally have gray and beige grains, and mortar often appears gray from a distance. Painting your dresser in Sandy Hook Gray by Benjamin Moore will bring out these shades.
With less color, mixed elements act as complements rather than competitors. This house has brick additions, shaker siding and natural stone – all beautiful things in their own right, but the color palette made it feel intimidating. In this case, the right brick and color combination can make a difference. By painting the bricks in Benjamin Moore’s River Peter, neutral, our designer allowed the natural details of the stone to come through. The metal gable on the shaker siding gives the house more dimension – notice how the flat in the front photo feels compared to the others? – and brings out the grays and blues in the rock. The onyx color on the lid makes the contrast stand out.
How To Select Exterior Paint Colors
Does this color combination sound familiar? This is similar to the third figure 8 above, but it looks different when combined with bare bones. Revere Pewter, Iron Mountain and Onyx are three neutrals that work well together. These colorful colors help define the architectural features of the home, without feeling too busy, despite the high quality red brick and light mud base.
Yellow bricks or lime wash are not for everyone. If you’re looking to update your brickwork with a fresh white, alabaster is a great option. Its warm beige tones help it play well with natural wood. This combination, along with the black trim and brown windows, completely enhances the look of this home.
Here are some top tips on combining brick color and colors that work in your home’s look today: Bricks often look white, beige or gray. Natural bricks work well with warm neutrals. Light shades show off the white texture, and adding dark gray to the blinds and trim creates contrast.

How To Choose The Right Exterior Paint Colors
Bonus bonus for reading to the end: The combination of brick color and paint used in home design at the beginning of this post is Natural Brick and Graphite Coating by Benjamin Moore and Roof, Soffit Paint and Black Trim by Benjamin Moore. Bricks come in a variety of colors and usually look best when left in their natural shade. However, if you have brick in your home, that doesn’t mean you have to stick with just one color. Whether it’s inside or outside your home, you have many great ways to enhance the natural color of your bricks or change your color.
Sometimes the natural shades of white (especially when it’s too dark) don’t want to work with the style of the house you’re going to. If you like the look of your hair but want to change the color, dye is a good solution. While most people stick to neutral tones, you can be bold with your color choice if that’s what you’re into.
When you paint the walls white you create a cool look that is boring. Bright solid white helps create a sophisticated and modern atmosphere in old or new brick buildings. It’s great for interior walls or fireplaces, but it can also look great on the outside of your home. Choose warm colors as accents to keep things from getting too cold.
For a more sophisticated look, you can try a soft shade of white like cream or white. If you want to create a classic look that allows the natural color to show a little, you can try a white wash or lime treatment, which uses a transparent color mixture that does not provide full coverage. Because it looks vibrant, this look is low-maintenance – it always looks better with age, so it can mean you don’t need to dye as often.
