I say no, you don’t have to paint the whole house in one color. I personally like bedrooms to have their own features and colors that give meaning to their surroundings.

You personally probably already gravitate towards a cool or warm color palette, but if you haven’t already, now is the time to do so. Choose a paint color that flows with your tone.

Since this color will be in many places in your home in different light conditions, it is usually better to choose something neutral without obvious yellow or blue tones.
Looking for a light, bright and airy space? Something more fun and clever? Something bright and colorful?
Log on to Pinterest and start a board of classes that inspire you. Then look at the paint colors. Do they have the same feel or atmosphere? This is a great way to start in the right direction!
In general, dark spaces work best with light and bright colors. If you have a very bright home, you may want to choose a color that is a little more colorful because bright light can wash out colors.

One of the most important things to remember about all paint colors is that they look different in different lighting conditions. So you want to make sure you paint large swatches and test at different times of the day to be sure of how the color will look.
For example, in our apartment, I painted our bedroom a warm gray. I took 3 samples and painted little dots on the wall and looked at them and went straight to Lowe’s and bought a gallon of one of my favorites.
Well, at night – or when it’s dark and I have the lights on – it looks purple. Like a lot of purple. I hated it, but I didn’t even want to paint it, it’s too much work.
Lesson learned! Always draw BIG swatches before deciding on a color and look at them several times a day for 2-3 days!

Sherwin Williams Online was actually the color we chose to paint the entire floor, stairs and hallway. It is one of my favorite colors recently.
It is a cool gray color with a very light blue color. It’s not a super bright color – it has enough color that it definitely reads as gray. I would classify it closer to medium gray than light gray.
It’s a great option for places that want a beach or beach feel or a nice blue-gray wall color.

Repose Gray is a very light and slightly warm gray color. You can see how light and bright it is in the picture above.

If you’re looking for a lighter shade of gray, this is a great option. It works especially well for rustic or rustic style homes.
Grayable Gray is a very popular gray color with a warm undertone. It is often used by builders or real estate developers to draw the entire room of the house.

Edgecomb gray is a light and light gray – a mixture of gray and beige. It is a good option for a new, but slightly warm look.

Note that Edgecomb Gray can look a little gray in artificial light and is best for homes with lots of bright light.

Keep in mind that these (and many more!) paint colors can be completely different in different rooms if different rooms in your home get different amounts of natural light!

In combination with these crisp white kitchen cabinets, you can see that the color is not white enough. It’s a great option if you want white walls but don’t want your space to be too cold or sterile.
Eider White is a very light gray color. It looks white until you put it next to crisp white, for example a “barely there” gray that’s great for people who want an almost white look.
